PENDLE is the native token of the Pendle protocol. It is an ERC-20 token built on Ethereum.
Pendle is a unique automated market maker (AMM) built on top of existing protocols. Pendle is the first protocol to allow for trading tokenised future yield. With Pendle, holders of assets that generate yield can lock in future yield upfront, without underlying collateral.
When holders of yield-generating assets deposit their tokens on Pendle, the user mints ownership tokens (OT) and yield tokens (YT). Ownership tokens represent the underlying principal, while yield tokens can be used in 2 different ways: depositing YT to earn fees and selling YT.
