PEAK is the native cryptocurrency token of the PEAKDEFI asset management fund. The fund was first established to try and connect investors with asset managers. The fund's vision is to help anyone and everyone create wealth no matter what economic position they may find themselves in. The fund, which is completely decentralised, was established as a smart contract on the Ethereum blockchain and is operated by a network of asset managers. The fund works on a 60-day cycle. Every 60 days asset managers can reallocate capital and investors can move funds. Traditionally, only wealthy investors can benefit from asset management funds. Built as a disruptor to the traditional mutual fund ecosystem, PEAKDEFI allows any investor to gain access. According to the PEAKDEFI blog, the fund is open to anyone, is completely transparent and is governed by all parties involved. Investors can submit funds using a range of different cryptocurrencies, including Ethereum. All funds remain non-custodial and are always controlled by investors. The fund is managed by a decentralised network of asset managers. Fund placement is determined by the best manager at the time, which is verified through a Reputation Token system. Reputation Tokens are distributed to each manager upon joining the PEAKDEFI platform. The number of tokens can then increase or decrease with time depending on the trading decisions made. The PEAK token then fits neatly within the ecosystem to provide investors with the opportunity for further rewards and to facilitate the onboarding of new asset managers. All asset managers must stake PEAK to gain access.
