How to get the Paramount Plus 7-day free trial: What does it get you?
We’re reader-supported and may be paid when you visit links to partner sites. We don’t compare all products in the market, but we’re working on it!
Find out how to sign up to Paramount Plus and stream its vast library of content for free.
Paramount Plus is now live in Australia, replacing the 10 All Access service. The new platform offers a wide collection of TV shows and movies, as well as sports and kids' content. In other words, more bang for your buck.
While 10 All Access subscribers can use their credentials to sign in to Paramount Plus, new users will have to create an account from scratch. If you're unsure whether this new service would be a good fit for you, the platform offers a free 7-day trial.
You can give it all a test drive, sample some content and make a more informed decision. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to sign up.
How do I get the Paramount Plus free trial?
Signing up to Paramount Plus isn't much different from creating an account on similar platforms and shouldn't take you more than a few minutes. On your desktop or mobile device, follow these steps:
Access the Paramount Plus website at paramountplus.com.au and click on the blue Try it free button. You'll be taken to the Sign Up page and prompted to create an account.
Enter your personal information, set a password, click Continue.
In the next screen, enter your payment information. Don't worry, you won't be charged until your free trial period expires. Once that's done, click Start Paramount Plus.
Step 4. Congratulations! You can now start streaming.
You can also sign up via the Paramount Plus app on your preferred device, as long as it's compatible. Be sure to check out our Paramount Plus review too and leave a comment with your thoughts on the service.
If you're not enjoying the service, remember to cancel your subscription before the 7 days are up or it will automatically renew and your card will be charged. We recommend setting up a reminder or alarm for the day before your free trial expires so you can take action in a timely manner.
What does the Paramount Plus free trial let you watch?
You can watch as much as you want and anything you want from the Paramount Plus library during your free week. That includes TV shows and movies. We recommend checking out one of the best shows on Paramount Plus, but the library is generous enough that we're sure you'll find something to watch.
Our advice is to begin with something short and sweet like a movie or limited series so you more easily figure out if the service works for you. If you start binge-watching a lengthy show like NCIS, you might find yourself so hooked that you'll have no option but to watch it all. And at 18 seasons, that's a huge time commitment. We joke.
On a more serious note, Paramount Plus offers everything from relaxing crime procedurals like Blue Bloods to experimental series like The Bite to hilarious comedies like Everyone Is Doing Great. On the movie front, you can't go wrong with streaming classics like Indiana Jones and Top Gun. If you want something to watch with the little ones, there is a new series of children's classic Rugrats and Kamp Koral: SpongeBob's Under Years is another fine choice.
Is there a catch?
Like with all free trials, your card will be billed once the 7 days are up. Subscriptions to Paramount Plus in Australia cost $8.99 per month. That's a fair price considering the library, but make sure there are enough shows and movies you're interested in.
On the same note, streaming video burns through a lot of data. If you're on WiFi that shouldn't be a problem, but if you stream with mobile data you might end up blowing through your allowance rather quickly.
Paramount Plus does support offline viewing, so it would be best to download content on your mobile device if you're keen to watch something when out and about.
