Where is it? Panama is located in Central America, between Costa Rica and Colombia.

How do I get there? Hop on a Panama-bound cruise ship or catch a flight from Melbourne or Sydney. Airlines flying to Panama City include United, Virgin, Copa, Qantas and Air New Zealand. No direct flights are available and the minimum travel time is 24 hours.

When should I go? Panama’s tropical climate can be unpredictable and at times uncomfortable. The best time to visit is in the dry season, from late December to late April.

What should I do? Shop till you drop in Panama City, learn to salsa, visit an indigenous group, explore ruined Spanish forts, relax on the beach, hike to a cloud forest, scuba dive among tropical fish and turtles, and zip-line through a rainforest canopy.
