OVOBoom delivers big mobile broadband plans for data-lovers

Our appetite for accessing the Internet on the go is only increasing, whether it be streaming Netflix on your morning commute or uploading your latest stunning selfie to Instagram. To satisfy our growing hunger for mobile data, Aussie telcos need to step up their game by providing larger data caps at a lower price. That's exactly what OVO is doing with its latest batch of mobile broadband plans, dubbed OVOBoom.

Ranging from 50GB of monthly data all the way up to a hefty 250GB, these OVOBoom plans aim to offer an alternative to a traditional fixed-line broadband connection. Rather than signing up for an NBN plan, OVO wants you to opt for a mobile broadband connection that gives you the freedom to access the Internet wherever you are rather than only when you're at home. Provided your typical data usage falls below the various OVOBoom monthly caps, that freedom is quite attractive.

Plenty of Aussies seem to agree, as OVO has seen demand for its 250GB OVOBoom exceed its expectations since it rolled out back in August.

"OVOBoom customers have one thing in common: they want fast, reliable data that they can use wherever they go, that isn't restricted to a single location," said OVO founder Matt Jones. "They want a lot of it, and they want it to be affordable."

Affordability is one of the highlights of the OVOBoom plans, with pricing starting at $49.95 a month for 50GB of data and topping out at $99.95 for the full-blown 250GB. However, that $99.95 price is a $20 discount on OVO's regular pricing and is only good for sign-ups made before 30 November, so you'll want to act fast to take advantage of the promotion.
