OVO Mobile slashes prices and increases data inclusions
Fans of sports streaming after a solid mobile plan now get even more value from OVO Mobile.
OVO Mobile’s key selling strategy has long been its association with sports events, launching first as the official partner of V8 Supercars, adding Audi racing and Gymnastics Australia along the way. A key part of that strategy has been the fact that OVO’s signed sports partners are streamed with no data hit for users.
OVO has today rejigged its plans, cutting prices across the board while increasing data values and changing the way it changes user plans. Specifically, it’s offering what it calls "Fans First", which promises to switch customers to better rate plans automatically as soon as they become available, rather than leaving customers on older "grandfathered" plans.
In terms of plan value, the entry level $29.95/month plan drops to $24.95 per month, adding 500MB of data to jump up to 2GB. The $49.95 chops $15 off the asking price down to $34.95 while bumping data inclusions up to 8GB from 6GB. At the top level, the $69.95 plan snips $25 away from its price down to $44.95 while adding 3GB of data to a total of 12GB per month.
OVO Mobile has also upgraded its data-only tablet plans, with $29.95 for a 13GB plan, up from 4GB, $44.95 per month for a 25GB plan, up from 7GB and at the top level $59.95 for 50GB per month, up markedly from its previous 15GB level.
