Optus reveals pricing for Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+
Pre-order with Optus and you'll score a free Samsung wireless charging pad.
Following the long-awaited reveal of the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ at Mobile World Congress today, Optus has announced just how much the handsets will set you back if you want to grab them from the second of Australia's big three mobile providers.
All variants of the S9 and S9+ handsets will be available for lease – not purchase – on Optus' 24-month My Plan Flex.
Starting at $85 a month for the 64GB model of Samsung Galaxy S9, My Plan Flex includes unlimited standard national calls along with unlimited standard national and international SMS and MMS. You also get up to 300 minutes of international calls to select countries, 16GB of data and data-free streaming on a variety of popular services like Spotify, Google Play Music, Netflix and Stan.
The 256GB model of the S9, as well as the 64GB and 256GB models of the S9+, will also be eligible for leasing in Optus' My Plan Flex, though pricing has yet to be announced.
As part of Optus' leasing deal on My Plan Flex, you can upgrade your handset after just 12 months for a $99 fee, provided you haven't damaged the handset in any significant way. So, when the Galaxy S10 inevitably rolls around, you'll be able to upgrade to it for minimal cost.
Optus is opening pre-orders for the Galaxy S9 and S9+ plus at 12:01am tomorrow, 27 February. As a bonus, if you pre-order before 15 March, you'll score a free Samsung Convertible Fast Charge Wireless Pad, normally retailing for $119. The two handsets will launch in full on 16 March.
