Compare Optus business NBN plans

If you're a small business in the market for an affordable NBN service, Optus business NBN plans have a lot to offer.

What you need to know about Optus business NBN plans

Optus provides two options for businesses looking for NBN plans: you can sign up for the regular Made For Everyday and Made For Entertainment plans, which are identical to the provider's residential NBN plans, or you can opt for a single Made For Business NBN plan that comes with additional support and call inclusions designed specifically for small businesses.

Both the Everyday/Entertainment plans and the Made For Business plan come with unlimited monthly data and are available on 24-month or month-to-month contracts. All three plans include phone line rental, but if you're looking for a standalone NBN service, Optus also offers an unlimited data plan without phone line rental. This standalone plan doesn't come with any of the Made For Business extras, however.

Exclusive to the Made For Business plan, Optus provides 24/7 customer support through its online Live Chat service, with specialists on hand for any technical issues you may run into. Made For Business customers also get fast-tracked service when contacting the Optus support team over the phone as well as the option to solicit advice from business experts at Yes Optus stores and Optus Business Centres.

What are the different Optus business NBN plans?

Optus offers a single Made For Business plan aimed at companies with less than 150 employees. The plan comes with unlimited monthly data as well as unlimited standard local, national and mobile calls within Australia. By default, it includes an NBN 25 connection with a maximum Internet speed of 25Mbps, but you can upgrade to 100Mbps by purchasing an optional speed pack.

If you're a new Optus customer signing up to the Made For Business plan, you'll also receive a free Wi-Fi modem with your service. The current modem included with this offer is the Sagemcom F@ST AC Wi-Fi model.

Bear in mind that to sign up for the Made For Business plan, you'll need to have a valid ABN or ACN.

How much do Optus business NBN plans cost?

Optus charges a flat $80 a month for its Made For Business plan, regardless of whether you sign up on a 24-month contract or a month-to-month contract. However, on a month-to-month contract, you'll need to pay a one-off $200 set-up fee. Optus waives this fee on 24-month contracts. Should you sign up for a 24-month contract and decide to cancel your service before the two years are up, you'll be hit with an early cancellation fee of up to $500 depending on how long you have left on your contract.

If your business needs a faster NBN connection than 25Mbps, upgrading to 100Mbps will set you back an additional $20 a month. If your employees make a lot of overseas calls, you can pay $10 extra a month to add on the World Saver Ultimate pack, which comes with unlimited calls to landlines in 25 select countries plus unlimited calls to mobile numbers in seven of those countries.
