Get up to 20% off plans from Optus for a limited time only.

Optus is following other providers by releasing its Black Friday Internet deals ahead of time.

Here's where you can save:

  • Premium NBN 100 plans. Save $10 a month on all 3 of Optus's NBN 100 plans for the first 6 months. This combines with the existing introductory $10 a month discount over the same period to save you $120 over 6 months.
  • 4G Home Internet. Get $10 a month off the 500GB 4G Home Internet Everyday plan for the first 12 months, saving $120.
  • 5G Home Internet. The non-speed-capped unlimited data plan is reduced by $20 for the first 6 months, saving you $120 as well.

These deals are available to new or existing customers until 12 December 2021.

Which Optus NBN plans are on sale for Black Friday?

You can choose one of the NBN 100 plans below that closely match your Internet needs.

  • Internet Everyday Fast: $79 a month after discount. This comes with a typical evening speed of 100Mbps.
  • Internet Gamer Fast: $79 a month after discount. This plan has the same typical evening speed of 100Mbps, but with an ASUS gaming modem and 3 months of Optus's Game Path included.
  • Family Internet Ultimate Fast: $89 a month after discount. You'll get the same typical evening speed of 100Mbps, plus an Ultra Wi-Fi Booster with Wi-Fi Secure powered by McAfee.

Is there a catch with Optus's Black Friday Internet deals?

When you sign up to any promotional deal, there are always a few terms and conditions to pay attention to. Here's what to watch out for with Optus:

  • If you cancel or change your plan before the promotional period runs out, you'll lose all remaining discounts.
  • Optus NBN plans come with a modem that's free if you stay connected for 36 months, but will cost you $7 for each remaining month.
  • 5G home Internet plans are only available to people who live in areas with 5G coverage.

Each Internet plan also comes with its own features and conditions, so make sure you double check the details before signing up.

How do the deals compare?

A $10–$20 discount is reasonable for Optus, especially considering that its plans are generally more expensive than the average provider.

This makes the Optus 5G home Internet one of the more affordable options on the market at the moment. If you have reliable 5G coverage in your area, this could be a decent alternative to an NBN connection.

No matter what you're after, just keep in mind you have until 12 December to decide.
