Oppo launches R7s through Dick Smith

Oppo’s latest smartphone will hit Australian store shelves in January 2016.

Oppo has announced its latest phone launch in Australia, with the Oppo R7s due to become available in Australia in January 2016.

While some recent Oppo models have been made available on contract terms, the Oppo R7s will sell only via outright purchase at launch through Dick Smith Electronics stores for an RRP of $529.

As you might expect at that price point, it’s a mid-range Android handset rather than a fully premium device, although its mix of a Snapdragon 615 processor and 4GB of RAM is curious, given that it’s powering an older processor with a lot of memory. The essential specifications of the Oppo R7s are as follows:

Oppo R7s
Screen size5.5in
ProcessorSnapdragon 615
Rear camera13MP
Front camera8MP
Resolution1920 x 1080
Display density401ppi
