The new handset promises to "go beyond" the features offered in the current market.

It might not carry the weight of Apple or Samsung, but the Oppo brand has garnered quite a bit of popularity here in Australia. The mid-range smartphone manufacturer has carved out a niche with its feature-packed yet affordable handsets, offering all the bells and whistles you'd expect from a modern smartphone without the steep price tag.

This trend looks set to continue with the latest handset in the Oppo catalogue: the Oppo Find X. Slated for launch later this month, the Find X aims to push the boundaries of smartphone technology while still representing solid value – according to Oppo's Executive Director Michael Tran, that is.

"We are really looking forward to bringing the latest device in the Find series to Australia," said Tran. "The Find X will go beyond the normal features offered on the market and deliver a whole new experience to customers, incorporating OPPO innovations and design concepts into the device.

"As always, OPPO will ensure the device offers customers amazing value, in addition to the flagship features."

Oppo's Find handsets have long been a platform for the company to experiment with new technologies. Since the first Find phone launched back in 2011, the handsets have been among the first to implement features like ultra-thin designs, 1080p displays and flash charging.

Specific details on the Oppo Find X remain slim at the current time, but it won't be that way for long. Oppo plans on launching the device worldwide on 19 June at the Louvre Museum in Paris.
