OnePath Travel Insurance Policies

Depending on where you’d like to go and with whom, One Path offers the choice of local and international cover. Both plans are available as singles or doubles options.

International Travel Plan

This plan is suited to overseas travel since it provides cover for medical and dental expenses incurred while travelling beyond Australia. Travellers aged 16 years and older can apply for this policy. Benefits include:

  • Unlimited cancellation costs
  • Unlimited emergency travel expenses and accommodation
  • Unlimited medical and dental expenses
  • Hospital expenses
  • Travel delay
  • Resuming a trip
  • Evacuation and repatriation
  • Rental vehicle excess

Australian Travel Plan

This plan is available to Australian residents who are eligible for a MediCare card. In the case of a medical emergency, claims must be filed with your personal health insurance provider. Ideal for travelling around Australia, this plan covers:

  • Cancellation costs
  • Emergency travel and accommodation costs
  • Evacuation and repatriation
  • Travel delays
  • Rental vehicle excess
  • Luggage and personal effects
  • Accidental death
  • Funeral expenses
  • Personal liability up to $300,000

Benefits available on OnePath Travel Insurance Policies

Policyholders are entitled to the following benefits:

  • Efficient handling of claims. You can report and file your claim at any time, from anywhere in the world.
  • Medical and dental expenses. The International option provides for unlimited medical and dental expenses.
  • Cancellation. If you have to cancel your holiday because of a family emergency or illness, your cancellation costs are covered.
  • Emergency travel and accommodation. These costs are covered if you have to interrupt your trip.
  • Luggage. Costs are covered for lost, stolen or damaged luggage.
  • Travel delay. If your scheduled transport is delayed, costs for additional accommodation and meals are covered.
  • Replacing travel documents. The cost of reissuing or replacing a passport, travellers cheques or credit cards are covered.
  • Repatriation. These costs are covered both locally and overseas, and will cover medical evacuation or repatriation of remains to Australia.
  • Personal liability. This will cover the cost of injury to people or damage to property.

Additional options available on OnePath Travel Insurance Policies

If you need to upgrade your policy with additional cover, you have the choice of the following optional extras:

  • Cover for pre-existing medical conditions. If you find that your pre-existing medical condition isn’t covered, you can apply for additional cover. Your Certificate of Insurance will be updated to reflect the additional premium.

OnePath Travel Insurance Pre-existing medical conditions

Certain pre-existing medical conditions aren’t covered by the terms of the insurance policy. Carefully read to the PDS and the list of conditions that automatically insured. If you find that your illness or condition is not automatically covered, you can request additional cover. If approved, your Certificate of Insurance will be updated.

OnePath Travel Insurance Claims

Claims can be filed 24 hours a day, seven days a week from overseas or when you return to Australia. Along with the completed claims form and your Certificate of Insurance, you will also be asked to submit some - if not all - of the following documentation:

  • medical certificates
  • police reports
  • original receipts
  • luggage tickets
  • travel itineraries
  • written statements from transport providers

Claims are handled within 10 working days upon receiving your documentation and claims form. Payment is issued in Australian dollars and deposited into the designated account.
