Finder Beauty Fave: Olay Regenerist Retinol 24 Night Serum
The potent yet gentle formula means this retinol serum is great for experts and beginners alike.
When I first received an email about the Olay Regenerist Retinol 24 collection, I was intrigued. The line recently launched into Australia, following huge success in the US. According to Olay, it's been 20 years in the making and has been developed through trials with 10, 000 women.
Judging by those stats, I knew I was in for an absolute treat when I first got my hands on the Regenerist Retinol 24 collection. These are my honest thoughts of the stand-out product, the night serum.
The quick verdict
Why is it good? Not only is this retinol serum gentle and hydrating, but it's potent and effective.
How much is it? $60
Where to buy it: Chemist Warehouse
Olay's Regenerist Retinol 24 Night Serum promises to deliver a plump and dewy complexion. How? That's all thanks to the formulation. There's a brilliant combination of Olay's Retinoid Complex, with a Bio-available formula containing pure retinol, retinyl propionate, niacinamide and amino peptides.
All these ingredients work together to penetrate deep into the skin, without any irritation. It promotes the renewal of skin cells, visibly improves fine lines and wrinkles, improves skin smoothness and firmness, as well as diminish pores and sunspots.
The Retinol 24 Night Serum is also formulated without additional fillers, dyes, phthalates, sulphates or fragrances.
To give you some background context, I've been using retinol for over six months, so I like to think that my skin has grown accustomed to the potent ingredient. I like to apply the Olay Retinol 24 serum every second night. If you're just starting out, you may want to use it twice a week and see how you go from there.
As I am 22, I can't comment much on its power to improve fine lines and wrinkles. However, I do deal with texture and after using this, my skin noticeably looks smoother and softer. My pores look smaller and my overall complexion looks super glowy.
One of my favourite things about this product is the formulation. It's a lightweight, non-greasy gel that absorbs quickly into the skin. Unlike other retinol-based products I've used, I found this serum to be extremely hydrating and nourishing.
The potent yet gentle formula means this retinol serum is great for experts and beginners alike. If you've ever been scared to try it, this is a great place to start.
If you're interested, the Olay Regenerist Retinol 24 line also features a facial moisturiser and eye cream. I'm yet to trial these products, so I can't provide you with a review.
Affordability
Olay's Regenerist Retinol 24 Night Serum retails for $60. While this can't really be considered an affordable skincare product, I do think that it's worth the price. Not only does it actually work, but it's also cheaper than other retinol-based serums on the market. That's a big tick in my books!
Where to buy
Olay is stocked at a few Aussie retailers, but my personal favourite place to purchase is Chemist Warehouse. Why? Because you're more likely to score a killer deal.
