Okami HD might be coming to PS4 and Xbox One

The white wolf will reportedly grace current consoles this December.

Fans of Zelda-style action-adventure games could be in for a real treat this December, with signs pointing to a PS4 and Xbox One remake of the gorgeous cel-shaded PS2 game Okami.

As reported by Kotaku UK, two separate European retail chains are listing Okami HD for physical release on 12 December this year. Capcom has not responded to inquiries regarding the potential remake, so nothing's set in stone just yet, but given the game's fervent fan base and the lack of similar titles on current-generation consoles, a remaster seems like a smart move.

Okami received an HD remaster on PS3 back in 2012, and thanks to its stylised art and unique paintbrush mechanic, it held up remarkably well. We'd love for this news to be true, and we'll let you know as soon as more information is available.

Cult classics seem to be in vogue at the moment, with Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen slated to claw its way onto current-generation consoles this November.
