New York Exchange is a blockchain-based network that provides its users with the opportunity to trade value-backed commodities using cryptocurrency. New York Exchange has identified the lack of integration between traditional financial assets and digital assets, and set out to address it. New York Exchange uses a Proof-of-Stake (PoS) consensus mechanism to validate transactions on the protocol. Users must own and lock up at least 1,000 NYE to host a master node and stake on the platform. A key goal of the New York Exchange project is to provide traders and investors the ability to complete peer-to-peer transactions of classic commodities, making an intermediary broker (and thus, brokerage fees) redundant, like there are on traditional stock exchanges. NYE is the governance and utility token of the New York Exchange network. It uses smart contracts for the purchasing of synthetic stock and commodities that are found on the New York stock exchange.
