The Sea Eagles surprised critics in 2019, managing to go from 15th in 2018 to a seventh-placed finish. Then, they pulled off a victory against Cronulla in the play-offs before being eliminated by South Sydney. All in all, it was a great run under the watchful eye of returning coach Des Hasler.

Not much has changed for the squad ahead of the 2020 NRL season. The Trbojevic brothers are back on the field after suffering injuries last year. Former New Zealand international Danny Levi also joined the team from Newcastle following the departure of Apisai Koroisau.
