Another year, another handful of EA sports titles. This year, EA's NHL offering brings new game modes, gameplay improvements and more tools to up your game. While NHL 15 missed the mark, NHL 16 managed to turn things around and put the ice hockey series back on the right track. NHL 17 reviews are already rolling in and it looks like this year's effort is continuing on the upwards trend.

The most talked about aspect of NHL 2017 is the sheer quantity of game modes. Along with returning fan-favourites like "Be a Pro" mode and Hockey Ultimate Team Mode, NHL 17 introduces Draft Champions (a fantasy draft sim), ECHL (North American Hockey League) and brings back 2005's World Cup of Hockey.

Amongst the various technical improvements is the "Reactionary Save Intelligence" system that improves goaltender AI, making them more aggressive and ultimately more efficient. Aside from these improvements, the usual punters should have a pretty good idea what they're in for.
