New Zealand flights from $169 each way

Air New Zealand is discounting its New zealand flights to as low as $169 one way so you can explore three different cities in the nation.The lowest fares are available for flights to Christchurch from Melbourne but we also found discounted flights to Auckland and Wellington.
Some of the best fares we found are from Sydney to Christchurch or Wellington from $189 and Brisbane to Christchurch from $191.
While this is an Air New Zealand sale, flights are operated either by Air New Zealand or Virgin Australia so frequent flyers might be able to collect Velocity points. After 27 October however all flights will be operated by Air New Zealand following the alliance end.
These sale fares don't include extras like checked bags though these can be added on by selecting the seat+bag fare option, which starts at just $20 extra.
The Air New Zealand sale is available until 23 April unless sold out prior and travel is for select dates between 1 May and 12 December.

How good are these fares?
Starting fares for Sydney and Melbourne are less than $10 higher than some of the lowest Air New Zealand fares we've seen, while Brisbane fares are actually $16 lower each way.
Travel dates are a lot more inclusive than usual and over some of the best months to visit New Zealand so if the timing suits then we reckon this is a pretty good deal.
