What's new streaming on Netflix in September 2023

New on streaming for Netflix in September is the Aussie movie Love is in the Air. It stars Delta Goodrem as a fiercely independent pilot fighting to keep her family business afloat, all the while starting to fall for the man sent by corporate to ground her operation forever. In what could be a theme for the month, another new movie called Love at First Sight features 2 strangers who connect on a flight to London only to be separated by a twist of fate. Aside from these Netflix original movies, you can catch the batshit crazy Cocaine Bear now that it's had its run in cinemas.

Plenty of your favourites are back on Netflix in September, with new seasons of Virgin River, Surviving Summer, Love is Blind, Top Boy, Selling The OC and, in their final seasons, Sex Education and Disenchantment. If you're after some new original series, there's Castlevania: Nocturne, a new animated series in the Castlevania universe.

And what would Netflix be without a new true crime documentary? In September you can watch Who Killed Jill Dando? centred around the 1999 murder of the TV presenter.

What's new streaming on BINGE and Foxtel Now in September 2023

Plenty of returning favourites will be streaming on BINGE and Foxtel Now in September. Strap yourself in for new episodes of American Horror Story: Delicate, Love It Or List It Australia, Southern Charm and Secrets of Playboy.

If you're in the mood for something new instead, there are plenty of fresh series to check out. Black Ops is a comedy-thriller about inept police community support officers that unwittingly find themselves in way over their heads after they are recruited by the police to infiltrate a drug gang. If romantic comedy is more your vibe, then The Lovers is for you. A well-known political broadcaster and a supermarket worker embark on a no-strings affair that might lead to more. Or for some time travel drama, The Way Home has 3 generations of women unexpectedly back under the same roof and on an enlightening journey of self-discovery.

For new movies on streaming following their cinema runs, BINGE and Foxtel will now showcase The Son, 65, Babylon and probably the wildest film you'll see all year, Cocaine Bear.

What's new streaming on Stan in September 2023

New on streaming for Stan in September is the next instalment in The Walking Dead universe, The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon. It follows the character Daryl Dixon as he washes ashore in France, struggling to remember how he got there. The series tracks his journey across France as he hopes to find a way back home.

Another new series streaming on Stan is C*A*U*G*H*T, an Australian original featuring an all-star cast of both international and local actors. After the Australian Minister of Defence texts a "secret file" to the princess of a small island nation, he sends 4 Australian soldiers into the war-town country on a secret mission to retrieve the file. Other new series to look out for includes a modern day retelling of the Robin Hood legend in Robyn Hood, where Robyn fronts an anti-authoritarian masked hip-hop band, The Hood, known for calling out injustices and fighting for freedom and equality in the city of New Nottingham.

Stan will also have the documentary Revealed Danielle Laidley: Two Tribes streaming this month. It documents Laidley's life, from her career as a high-profile football player to her battles with drug addiction and gender dysphoria.

Also new on streaming for Stan are returning seasons of Ride with Norman Reedus and Power Book IV: Force.

What's new streaming on Prime Video in September 2023

This month on Prime Video look out for the spin-off to superhero satire The Boys with Gen V. It explores the training of the first generation of superheroes to know about the Compound V serum, which when injected gives you super powers.

Another spin-off coming to Prime Video is the 3-part event series The Continental: From The World of John Wick. If focuses on the origin behind the hotel-for-assassins centrepiece of the John Wick universe through a young Winston Scott. It ties in nicely with the first 3 John Wick movies also coming to the service in September.

Strap yourself in for the return of some favourites on Prime Video including the epic fantasy series The Wheel of Time, plus classic Aussie soap Neighbours. The latter series picks up 2 years after it finished and although the episodes will screen a week earlier on Channel 10, you can watch them ad-free on Prime Video.

The streaming service will also have you covered for new original movies in September including Sitting in Bars with Cake, A Million Miles Away and Cassandro.

What's new streaming on Disney Plus in September 2023

The big new release streaming on Disney Plus this month is The Little Mermaid, as the 2023 live-action reimagining comes to the service after being in theatres earlier this year. A young mermaid with a thirst for adventure longs to find out more about the world beyond the sea.

National Geographic explorer Bertie Gregory returns with Animals Up Close, capturing unique animals' daily lives like never before.

Baby Groot is back exploring the universe and beyond aboard the Guardians' spaceships in more new episodes of I am Groot. He comes face-to-face with new creatures and environments.

Also returning with new episodes are your favourite first family of reality TV, The Kardashians, as well as Welcome to Wrexham.

For a new drama series you can check out The Other Black Girl, based on Zakiya Dalila Harris' 2021 best-selling novel. It follows editorial assistant Nella, who is tired of being the only black girl at her company, and is excited when Hazel is hired. But as Hazel's star begins to rise, Nella spirals out and discovers something sinister is going on at the company.

What's new streaming on Paramount Plus in September 2023

September sees the debut on Paramount Plus of new original Australian mystery series One Night. It's about the story of 3 women whose bond was destroyed by traumatic events of one night 20 years ago. One of the 3 writes a book about the event, but it threatens to derail their friendship.

Another new drama to look out for is The Gold. It's inspired by the real-life events from 1983, when armed robbers broke into a security depot near London's Heathrow Airport. Inadvertently stumbling across gold bullion worth £26m, it was the biggest robbery in the UK at the time.

Then from across the ditch comes Far North. It's about how an inept gang got half a billion dollars' worth of meth to New Zealand and nearly sold it, only to have an everyday couple foil this international crime ring's largest ever deal in the Pacific.

If you (or your kids) are up for some animation, there's plenty of shows streaming on Paramount Plus this month including The Loud House, The Patrick Star Show and Star Trek: Lower Decks. Or if reality is more your jam, you can check out new episodes of Teen Mom: The Next Chapter, The Love Experiment, Teen Mom UK: OG and All Star Shore.

On the documentary front there's On The Line: The Richard Williams Story, based on the father of star tennis players Venus and Serena Williams. You'll also be able to catch Adam Hills: Grow Another Foot, which follows the Australian comedian to the Physical Disability Rugby League World Cup.

Paramount Plus also has plenty of movie options to offer this month including They/Them, The Son and Babylon. Expect heaps of classics too such as Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Breakfast at Tiffany's, and Footloose.

What's new streaming on BritBox, Hayu, Apple TV Plus and more in September 2023

September sees the new season of one of Apple TV Plus' flagship shows, Morning Wars. The future of the network that airs the show is thrown into question and loyalties tested when a tech titan takes an interest in buying it.

While BritBox might be known for UK crime drama, you can keep an eye out for the comedy series Kate & Koji this month as both seasons of the show will be exclusive to the service. The sitcom is about the owner of a neglected seaside café and an asylum-seeking doctor. They navigate cultural differences and find common ground in their shared experiences.

Hayu will keep your Real Housewives fix going when the new season of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City hits the service. Expect plenty more icy drama from the series, which will feature a new housewife and the return of a friend.

Once again Shudder has plenty of horror movies dropping in September, including The Angry Black Girl and Her Monster. Inspired by Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, it's about a teenager who believes death is a disease that can be cured. After the murder of her brother, she embarks on a journey to bring him back to life.

If you're making your way through detective drama Grantchester on Acorn TV you'll be pleased to know season 7 is being added to the service in September. Taking place in 1959 and with a new decade around the corner, the question of what the future holds is on everyone's minds.

Over on AMC Plus, you can not only watch everything that's on Acorn TV and Shudder, but September will have the entire 2 seasons of Lodge 49 available exclusively to stream. If focuses on an optimistic former surfer who is drifting aimlessly through life after the death of his father. He then finds fellowship at a fraternal lodge.
