New on Netflix, Stan, Prime Video, Foxtel, BINGE, Disney+, hayu, SBS and more in November 2020

It's (almost) the most wonderful time of the year.

There's no way around this: 2020 hasn't been an easy year. Thankfully, streaming services seem focused on delivering wholesome content this month, so there's no better time like the present to get hooked on a dog competition or relax with a Christmas movie marathon. Jump straight to the list To soothe everyone's anxiety, Netflix is releasing a whole bunch of holiday movies this month. Among others, the list includes The Christmas Chronicles: Part 2, Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey, Operation Christmas Drop and Dolly Parton's Christmas on the Square. If you're into more serious stuff, the highly anticipated season 4 of The Crown drops this month. It marks the introduction of Princess Diana, portrayed by Emma Corrin. We also recommend Hillbilly Elegy, a movie based on the popular memoir of the same name which stars Amy Adams and Glenn Close. Shawn Mendes fans shouldn't miss In Wonder, which follows the popular singer over the course of a world tour. Over at Stan, nostalgia is high with the new Saved by the Bell scheduled to premiere on 26 November. In this version, now California governor Zack Morris gets into hot water for closing too many underfunded high schools, so he proposes they send the affected students to well-funded schools in the state, including Bayside High. Mario Lopez and Elizabeth Berkley Lauren will reprise their roles as A.C. Slater and Jessie Spano. Other Stan highlights for November include new series Gangs of London and Moonbase 8. If you're really into the holidays, the platform premieres comforting Christmas movies as well, such as Marry Me at Christmas, Forever Christmas, Christmas in the Highlands and more. Or, you can always rewatch fan favourites Love Actually and The Holiday. Meanwhile, BINGE drops comedy Betty, which follows a diverse group of young women who navigate their lives through the male-dominated world of skateboarding in New York. The reviews for the show are great – it has a 96% score on Rotten Tomatoes, so you can't go wrong with giving it a stream. You might also like The Flight Attendant, a new series which stars The Big Bang Theory's Kaley Cuoco as a flight attendant who wakes up next to a dead man and has no recollection of what happened. If you're more into reality, Below Deck season 8 premieres this month. So does season 2 of popular fantasy series His Dark Materials. Betty, The Flight Attendant, Below Deck and His Dark Materials will be on Foxtel as well. You'll also be able to watch Wild Rose, a highly entertaining movie about a troubled young Glaswegian woman who dreams of becoming a Nashville country star. And Call of the Wild, which tells the story of Buck, a big-hearted dog whose blissful domestic life gets turned upside down when he is suddenly uprooted from his California home and transplanted to the exotic wilds of the Alaskan Yukon in the 1890s. Over at Disney+, November will bring weekly episodes of The Mandalorian, which is excellent news for Baby Yoda fans. You might also want to watch Black Beauty, a modern-day reimagining of Anna Sewell's timeless classic, the LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special, documentary The Real Right Stuff, adventure flick Far from Home: The Adventures of Yellow Dog and original The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse. On Amazon Prime Video, The Pack premieres on 20 November. The show follows 12 teams of dogs and their human companions as they compete in fun and exciting challenges, celebrating their incredible bond. Other notable November additions include original movie Uncle Frank, Australian coming-of-age drama Sequin in a Blue Room and cooking series James May: Oh Cook. SBS On Demand is bringing us all eight episodes of We Are Who We Are, which centres on two American kids who live on a US military base in Italy. The series explores friendship, first love and identity, managing to immerse the audience in all the messy exhilaration and anguish of being a teenager. We also recommend checking out docu-series Addicted Australia, an original which provides extraordinary access to 10 Aussies and their families as they battle addiction. Seasons 1 to 3 of popular British crime drama The Fall, starring Gillian Anderson and Jamie Dornan, are coming to SBS On Demand as well. Finally, hayu is bringing reality enthusiasts brand new series The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, as well as new episodes of Below Deck, Killer Siblings and Chrisley Knows Best.
