While we're spoiled with fresh streaming releases every month, March feels especially packed. Maybe it's because some of the most popular ongoing shows are making a comeback.

Between Ted Lasso, Shadow and Bone, The Mandalorian, Succession and Yellowjackets, finding spare time to actually live your life can be a struggle. You might want to stock up on snacks and let your friends know you'll be unavailable for a few weeks.

What's new on Netflix in March 2023

Netflix kicks off March with new episodes of You. After fans caught up with Joe and his London entourage, season 4 part 2 will explore the blossoming relationship between everyone's favourite stalker and a killer set on forging a devious bond. Colour us intrigued!

Young adult fantasy series Shadow and Bone returns with season 2, which sees Alina and Mal on the hunt for new amplifiers. Sex/Life will be back as well, picking up right in the moment of Billie's stunning proposal to Brad which ended season 1. As for Riverdale, it's the beginning of the end. The seventh and final season premieres on 30 March.

On the movie front, gear up for Murder Mystery 2, which stars Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston as a married couple longing for excitement. This time around, they find themselves at the centre of an international abduction when a friend is kidnapped at his own lavish wedding.

Additionally, mark your calendars for Luther: The Fallen Sun, a sequel to the popular detective series starring Idris Elba. Haunted by an unsolved murder, the brilliant but disgraced Luther breaks out of prison to hunt down a sadistic serial killer.

What's new on BINGE and Foxtel in March 2023

Moving on, BINGE brings subscribers the highly anticipated fourth and final season of acclaimed HBO series Succession. The new episodes pick up in the wake of the season 3 finale when Logan bested his children and opted to move forward with the sale of his company. Can Shiv, Roman and Kendall work together for long enough to stop him?

March also marks the premiere of Rain Dogs, a comedy exploring the unconventional love story between a working-class single mum, her 10-year-old daughter and a privileged gay man. You might also like Better, a fast-paced thriller that explores the complex and powerful bonds of loyalty and family. It stars Leila Farzad and Andrew Buchan.

If you're a fan of the DC Universe, new show Gotham Knights is set in the aftermath of Batman's death and revolves around his adopted son, who forms a new team of heroes set on keeping the city safe. Superman & Lois will also be back with season 3.

All these titles will be on Foxtel as well. As for movies, look out for the streaming premieres of Bullet Train, Nope, Elvis and Jane. We also recommend All My Friends Hate Me, a British horror comedy about a guy excited to reunite with old friends for a weekend only to become paranoid that said friends are out to get him.

What's new on Stan in March 2023

Over on Stan, Lucky Hank is a new series starring Breaking Bad's Bob Odenkirk as a failed novelist turned unlikely chair of the English department at a mediocre college. He has to deal with backstabbing colleagues, crusading students and family problems.

Power Book II: Ghost will also be back with new episodes.

March also marks the release of 2 Stan original docos. With unprecedented access to the tale of the Queensland-based Dolphins, Dawn of the Dolphins follows Wayne Bennett as he builds the NRL's newest team. Meanwhile, Revealed: Trafficked exposes a major sex trafficking and border security scandal.

What's new on Prime Video in March 2023

On Prime Video, hyped new miniseries Daisy Jones & The Six is an adaptation of the bestselling novel penned by Taylor Jenkins Reid. The plot follows a 70s fictional band that rises from obscurity to stardom but breaks up unexpectedly. Years later, the band members are ready to reveal what caused them to go their separate ways.

If you're looking for something with a sci-fi twist, The Power is set in a world where teenage girls develop the power to electrocute people at will. The series features a cast of characters from London to Seattle, Nigeria to Eastern Europe, who all manage their newfound ability in various ways.

Speaking of sci-fi, new Aussie comedy Class of '07 looks like a blast. When an apocalyptic tidal wave hits during the 10-year reunion of an all-girls high school, the women must find a way to survive while dealing with all sorts of drama.

For a touch of horror, check out Swarm. Coming from Donald Glover and Janine Nabers, the series follows a young woman whose obsession with a pop star takes a dark turn.

What's new on Disney Plus in March 2023

Disney Plus starts the month with a bang. Season 3 of The Mandalorian premieres on 1 March and follows Mando and Grogu as they continue their adventure through the Star Wars galaxy. Episodes will come out weekly. Doogie Kamealoha, M.D. also returns with season 2.

Looking for something new? We recommend Unprisoned, a comedy about a single mum whose life takes a turn when her dad gets out of prison and moves into her house. It stars Kerry Washington and Delroy Lindo.

For movies, you might like Rye Lane, a charming British rom-com about 2 youngsters reeling from bad breakups who connect over the course of an eventful day. It premiered at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival to excellent reviews.

If you've missed it in cinemas, acclaimed movie The Banshees of Inisherin is making its way to Disney Plus this month. The plot revolves around lifelong friends who find themselves at an impasse when one abruptly ends their relationship.

What's new on Paramount Plus in March 2023

Paramount Plus is bringing out the big guns in March with the season 2 return of survival series Yellowjackets. The show revolves around a group of high school girls whose plane crashes in the wilderness. As they struggle to survive, a darkness engulfs them – so much so that they're still dealing with the consequences decades later.

Thriller fans should look out for Rabbit Hole, a fresh series starring Kiefer Sutherland. He plays a master of deception in the world of corporate espionage, who is framed for murder by powerful forces.

If you love parodies, you can't miss Weird: The Al Yankovic Story. The movie, which stars Daniel Radcliffe as Weird Al, chronicles the musician's life in hilarious fashion. Also, not everything you'll see on screen is true.

Another highlight for March is The Journey: Andrea Bocelli. The special follows the tenor as he travels Italy's Via Francigena on horseback to rediscover some of life's greatest joys.

What's new on BritBox, Apple TV Plus, Shudder and more in March 2023

For fans of British telly, BritBox is dropping Confessions of Frannie Langton, a haunting tale of forbidden love. It follows slave-turned-servant Frannie Langton, who travels from her Jamaican plantation to 1800s London where she finds herself accused of the brutal murder of her master and mistress. Returning shows this month include The Cleaner, Vera and Father Brown.

Over at Acorn TV, gear up for new episodes of Under the Vines, the charming romantic drama about a Sydney socialite and an ex-London lawyer trying to run a struggling vineyard.

On Shudder, March brings new horror movies Spoonful of Sugar, Leave and The Unheard.

If you don't have Apple TV Plus yet, this is a good month to give the service a try. Hit feel-good series Ted Lasso returns with season 3, which follows a newly promoted AFC Richmond. You might also like Extrapolations, an 8-episode limited series anthology about climate change.

Looking for top picks on SBS On Demand? Scottish thriller Vigil is an absolute treat while Aussie doco The Swap looks like an intriguing social experiment. It follows what happens when 12 students and families from different backgrounds are thrown into each other's worlds.
