Just opened: Pan Pacific Yangon, Yangon

Pan Pacific Yangon opened last week. The new hotel is located in Junction City, Yangon’s first commercial and luxury lifestyle development.

336 rooms span 25 floors with the 6th holding the sky lobby that has incredible views of one of the city’s main attractions, Shwedagon Pagoda. On the top floor to ceiling windows showcase more views of the city.

Just opened: Shangri-La Hotel, Jinan, Jinan

Shangri-La opened its third property in the Shandong province as a part of a multicomplex that will open in early 2018 which includes an office tower and shopping centre.

The new property consists of 364 rooms and 32 apartments that overlook Quancheng Square or the Daming Lake and is located in the CBD.

Amenities on-site include a pillow menu, luxurious amenities, air purification system, an indoor swimming pool, fitness centre, jacuzzi, spa and more.

Just opened: Four Seasons Hotel Tunis, Gammarth, Tunisia

The Four Seasons brand opened the latest hotel in the capital of Tunisia, Gammarth, last week along the Mediterranean shores.

The 77-room property features contemporary Arabesque architecture. Its prime location puts guests along the Mediterranean Sea and with close access to a number of UNESCO World Heritage sites.

Each room has views of the gardens or sea and the hotel features pools, fountains and palm trees that align with the hote’s open concept.

Just opened: Tru by Hilton Las Vegas Airport, Las Vegas

The latest Tru by Hilton hotel marks a few milestones for the brand including its largest location and its 8th hotel in the US.

The new hotel is home to 166 rooms across six floors and provides affordable accommodation. Its location is beside the McCarran International Airport and it offers complimentary shuttle services to the airport and the Strip.

Both quiet and sociable common rooms are available plus a build your own breakfast, a 24-hour market and a fitness centre.

Just opened: Steigenberger Hotel München, Munich

Steigenberger Hotels opened its first hotel in Munich earlier this month in the district of Schwabing.

The hotel reflects the style of the Bavarian state with both trendy and traditional features, including a bar that offers craft beers and a spa that resembles a beer factory with saunas in wooden drums.

Some of its 292 rooms have views of the Alpine foothills and on-site there is a bar and restaurant, sports room, a bio sauna, a Finnish sauna, steam bath, outdoor terrace and more.

Just opened: Radisson Blu Martinez Beirut, Lebanon

Radisson Blu opened its second Beirut-based hotel in the trendy, fashionable shopping district of Verdun.

The 127-room hotel has views over Verdun Main Street and is directly across from a newly opened mall.

On-site amenities include a ballroom, meeting spaces and two restaurants, one of which will open later this year. Guests also have access to a fitness centre in the Dunes Center.


Construction begins on Daydream Island

The much anticipated upgrade on Daydream Island has begun, with plans for the $86 million project to be complete in August 2018. The renovations will include updates to the reception, Waterfalls restaurant, arrivals pavillion, lagoons bars, all rooms and the Mermaids restaurant. Bookings are available now for September 2018.


Marriott announces big plans for 2018

Marriott International plans to open 40 new luxury properties worldwide in 2018. This will be across eight of its brands including The Ritz Carlton, St Regis and W Hotels, in an attempt to capture the next generation of luxury stayers. Properties will open in Nanjing, Cairo, Amman, Tel Aviv, Dubai, Brisbane, New York City, West Hollywood and more.
