Just opened: West Hotel Sydney, Sydney

The first Curio Collection hotel by Hilton open in Sydney last month. It’s a boutique wonder located close to one of Sydney’s newest business and fashion precincts: Barangaroo.

The hotel boasts 182 rooms and features a modern classic design with bold accents such as brass and dark tones through marble.

The hotel also has a focus on greenery, creating a running botanical theme.

Just opened: Holiday Inn St Marys, Saint Marys

Holiday Inn opened up in St Mary’s last week. Located between Parramatta and Penrith, close to the Blue Mountains, it’s an ideal setting for those seeking to stay close to family in Sydney’s western suburbs.

The property features 119 rooms and offers great value for money. The on-site facilities include a gym, business centre, meeting rooms, child entertainment, live entertainment and a cocktail lounge.

Just opened: Hilton Lake Como, Como

Hilton made its mark last week with the opening of the first hotel in the Lake Como region. It’s regarded as the largest hotel in the area and is centrally located, only steps from the promenade along the lake.

The upscale accommodation features 170 guest rooms with stunning lake views. Each room has large windows to take in the view, wood and glass furnishings and feature a modern design.

This hotel is all about relaxation with amenities such as a rooftop infinity pool, whirlpool and solarium. An indoor pool, spa and fitness centre are also on-site. A number of dining options and event spaces are available to guests.

Just opened: Wanda Vista Beijing Grand, Beijing

Wanda Vista Beijing Grand (formerly Sofitel Wanda Beijing) opened its grand doors earlier this year.

The large hotel features 417 guest rooms and is located in the heart of the Beijing CBD. Each room is cosy yet is equipped with advanced technology.

Four restaurants are on-site which serve a variety of cuisines.

Just opened: Hilton Fuzhou, Fuzhou

Hilton opened the brand’s second property in Fuzhou this month, occupying floors in the Sandi Lianbang Building building, a modern skyscraper.

The hotel is composed of 331 rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows that display gorgeous views of the city and riverfront.

Three restaurants are on-site serving local and international cuisine. Other amenities include a fitness centre, indoor infinity pool and 11 function rooms.

Opening soon: Best Western Plus Hotel Fino Chitose, Hokkaido

Best Western hotels plans to open its newest hotel by the New Chitose Airport, which is the main gateway to Hokkaido island in Japan.

The location is not only ideal for its proximity to the airport, just 3.2km away, but also major attractions such as Sapporo, the island’s largest city. The hotel will feature 154 rooms designed in a Japanese style.

Amenities on-site include on-site dining for breakfast that serves American style buffet, complimentary Wi-Fi and a 24-hour front desk.

Mercure Penrith debuts new $5 million upgrades

Mercure Penrith, located at the base of the Blue Mountains is ready to show off the guest rooms that have been refurbished. Changes made to the rooms include extra long beds, ambient lighting including backlit mirrors, USB ports have been added, chairs for relaxing, new TVs and art with a natural colour palette.


Game of Thrones hotel opens in Finland

Until April 2018 the Game of Thrones hotel will be open. The hotel was built in collaboration with HBO and is made entirely out of snow and ice. The property is a part of the Lapland's Hotel SnowVillage and consists of 14 rooms and 10 suites which are themed. A dragon shaped slide and a replica of the Iron Throne feature predominantly.
