Just opened: AVANI Broadbeach, Gold Coast
AVANI Hotels & Resorts opened its first Australian property last week in the Gold Coast with some of the hotel industry's latest technology.
With a room key guests can connect via Facebook messenger for top recommendations across the city from well-known personalities such as Laura Dundovic. This is a first for any hotel across the world.
The property features 1-2 bedroom suites with a coastal living feel and open planned living spaces.

Just opened: Mahogany Bay Resort & Beach Club, San Pedro
Hilton opened its first property in Belize last week in the Ambergris Caye as a waterfront property. It also makes one of the first global brands to open in the country.
The resort features 205 villa and cottage style rooms and is located a short drive from San Pedro, the only town on the island.
This sustainable resort has amenities that include poolside spa treatments, a private beach, an on-site marina and 10 dining venues.

Just opened: Park Inn by Radisson Istanbul Atasehir, Istanbul
Last week the sixth Park Inn by Radisson opened in Turkey in a new suburban district on the Asian side, close to the airport and city centre.
The hotel features 127 rooms set in an area destined to become the hub of the financial district.
Local and international cuisine are served at the on-site restaurant. Express check-in and check-out is available plus a gym and meeting rooms.

Just opened: Roomers Hotel Munich, Munich
One of Autograph Collection Hotels’ newest properties opened in Munich’s west end last week.
The hotel houses 281 rooms decorated in a contemporary style that features wood, leather, marble and copper elements.
Rooms are equipped with Apple TVs, Nespresso machine and Bang & Olufsen sound system.

Just opened: Hotel Xcaret, Playa del Carmen
Hotel Xcaret by Experiences Xcaret, a company dedicated to sustainable tourism and socially responsible tourism held the grand opening of its latest 6,000 room mega resort earlier this month.
The property is the first 5-star resort for the company and is 45-minutes drive from Cancun International Airport. The resort is all-inclusive, focusing on luxurious amenities and first-class service with an on -site spa as well as 10 restaurants and 8 bars.
It also includes access to eight nature parks and tours.

Opening soon: The Heritage Hotel Kempinski Yangon, Yangon
The Heritage Hotel Kempinski Yangon will open in spring 2018 along The Strand, a heritage district set on the river.
The property was originally built in 1927 by the same builders as the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Currently under construction, when it reopens it will feature 219 rooms and suites complete with high ceilings for opulence and space.
One of the hotel’s highlights will be the rooftop bar, where professional mixologists and DJs will play.

Ski from your hotel’s doorstep to your favourite shops and restaurants in Japan
Hoshino Resorts TOMAMU is a first in Japan, enabling guests to ski in and ski out of “ski-thru” shopping complex Hotalu Street. Along this street guests can explore nine shops and restaurants or easily walk through on the wooden deck. Hotalu Street is scheduled to open on 19 December 2017.
Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa unveils renovations
This marks Disney Anaheim’s largest refurbishment since the hotel opening in 2001. New changes include redesigned guest rooms, updated furnishings in the six-storey Great Hall Lobby, a new concierge-level lounge and pool decks. The hotel has been named a AAA Four Diamond hotel by the Automobile Club of Southern California for 16 years in a row.
