Just opened: Quest Eight Mile Plains, Eight Mile Plains
The hotly anticipated Quest in Eight Mile Plains finally opened its doors late July offering serviced apartment-style hotel rooms within a stone’s throw from Brisbane Technology Park.
The apart-hotel features 90 rooms from studios to three-bedroom apartments and, as its location suggests, is geared towards business travellers with hi-speed internet, in-room desks and business amenities to accommodate.

Just opened: Waldorf Astoria Chengdu, Chengdu
The Waldorf Astoria Cengu is Hilton’s 200th hotel in the Asia Pacific.
Located in the new financial district, this luxurious accommodation features 289 rooms in a 52-storey art-deco inspired building. The hotel is classic, elegant and modern.
There are many options for on-site restaurants with a mix of varieties from Cantonese to European plus a wine bar and rooftop bar on the 52nd floor.

Just opened: Iberostar Grand Hotel Portals Nous, Majorca
This 5-star luxury hotel is the first in Iberostar's The Grand Collection in the Mediterranean. It is located in one of Majorca’s exclusive areas with a beachfront location and is adults-only.
The hotel boasts 66 rooms with luxurious interior details and offers exceptional butler service.
Guests can enjoy a meal at one of the four on-site restaurants, VIP access to the area's top restaurants and last-minute boat and helicopter rides.

Just opened: citizenM Taipei North Gate, Taipei
Renowned for its style of affordable luxury hotels, citizenM makes its debut in Asia in the capital of Taiwan.
267 luxury rooms overlook North Gate or River with Fireworks and numerous essential amenities are available to all guests, including XL and king sized double beds, free Wi-Fi throughout the building, tablet-controlled room and shampoos and shower gels.
As an opening special, bookings made before 7 August for stays from 3 August-31 December will receive 33% off and free daily breakfast.

Club Med Cefalu, Sicily
Luxury resort chain Club Med is set to welcome its latest resort in Sicily in the summer of 2018.
Hailed to become the first 5Ψ Club Med resort in Europe, the hotel drinks up unparalleled views of the Cefalu Bay and boasts a fit-out that’s both Baroque and minimalist.
The resort welcomes guests aged 14 or older and offers premium dining experiences, kids’ clubs and outdoor activities as part of its package-style stays.

Opening soon: Millennial New York One Un Plaza, New York
Originally One UN New York, Hilton has invested $68-million since 2012 to remodel this hotel beside the United Nations headquarters.
When open, the iconic building will feature 439-rooms, meeting rooms, restaurant and public areas.
Rooms offer sweeping views of the Manhattan skyline and the hotel features a fitness centre and tennis court.

Star Sydney launches new experimental suites
Described as part-penthouse, part-suite, the new suites at The Star Sydney will immerse the guests into an experimental world. The three luxurious rooms each have their own themes: The Dark Romance Studio, 70s Glam and Cyberpunk. Inside the rooms are experimental features such as virtual reality gaming, a karaoke lounge and more.
QT Hotels & Resorts introduce Travelshoot Staycations

It’s an experience that sees guests stay in a photo-ready guest-room and have a professional photographer snap and deliver high-quality images of them. Travelshoot Staycations are available at the QT Melbourne, Sydney, Gold Coast and Canberra.
AccorHotels announced that by late 2018 ibis Melbourne and Novotel on Little Lonsdale Street will join to have shared features such as the lobby, restaurants and shared public spaces.
Government approves Adelaide's luxury hotel expansion
$330-million is being invested into the expansion of SkyCity, a 123-room luxury boutique hotel in Adelaide. Additional features in the expansion include new VIP gaming facilities, three bars and three restaurants.
