We take a look at hotels that have just opened, hotels that are in the works and major hotel changes across the globe.

Just opened: Mantra Albury Hotel, Albury

Albury welcomes the first new hotel in the city in more than 3 years with the opening of Mantra Albury Hotel late last week in the CBD.

146 guest rooms make up the property with studio, one and two bedroom suites. The rooms showcase views of the stunning Bogong High Plains and Victorian Alps.

Amenities include a fully equipped gym, an on-site restaurant serving tapas and Mediterranean dishes, an Internet lounge, entertainment and meeting facilities and a Sky Lounge on the top floor which is available for guests to rent.

Just opened: Toyoko Inn Seoul Gangnam, Seoul

The much loved hotel brand Toyoko Inn has opened the brand's 9th location in South Korea. Its signature style to suit women's needs and wants continues with the opening of Toyoko Inn Seoul prioritising ultimate comfort.

Multiple guest rooms are available including single, double, twin and triple. "Heartful Twin" rooms are also available, a type of room created by Toyoko Inn brand and is exclusive, designed for guests who are senior citizens or visually impaired.

All rooms are modern, simple, clean and affordable with a central location only a 10-minute walk from Gangnam station.

Just opened: Four Seasons Kuala Lumpur, Kuala Lumpur

Four Seasons Kuala Lumpur has opened in a brand new high rise beside the iconic Petronas Towers in the heart of Malaysia's capital. The property is a part of Kuala Lumpur City Centre, a complex which includes high end dining, shopping, nightlife and a 50 acre green space.

The new 65 storey tower will welcome guests in its 209 guest rooms and suites. Additional rooms are available as serviced apartments for guests who wish to have a longer stay as private residences.

The hotel's luxury extends past the rooms with amenities that include an outdoor pool with private cabanas, 6 restaurants and lounges, a spa, fitness centre, event and ballroom spaces as well as direct access to retail shopping at the The Shoppes at Four Seasons Space.

Just opened: Sol House Calvia Beach, Calvià

The urban- and multi-resort property has opened in Calvià, Spain with 3 hotels combining as one: Sol House The Studio, Sol Wave House and Calvia Beach The Plaza Hotel. Guests can choose to dine, play or be entertained in any of the 3 areas.

The 272 room property is steps away from the beach with advanced technology that allows guests to leave everything in their rooms. A simple bracelet can be worn at all times to pay for anything in the resort.

Luxe amenities are available across the resort including 4 pools, 2 of which are on the rooftop terrace and one of which is the largest suspended swimming pool in Europe. There are 7 restaurants on-site including the Rooftop Nine Bar for epic sunsets.

Just opened: Holiday Inn Baguio City Centre, Baguio

The popular summer capital and mountain retreat in the Philippines, Baguio, has welcomed the first international hotel brand to the city.

The hotel is home to 185 rooms, many of which are built to accommodate families and all of which focus of the surrounding areas beauty.

A free shuttle service and Kids Stay and Eat Free program is offered as well as a ballroom and entertainment space that accommodates up to 600 people, on-site dining and entertainment features for all ages.

Opening soon: Meliá Budva, Budva, Montenegro

The Montenegro city of Budva is booming recently due to tourism. The ancient city is often compared to Dubrovnik and often has visitors flocking to the city for its Mediterranean beaches, making it the latest spot for a hotel by Spanish brand Meliá Hotels International to open this summer.

The new hotel will be in the Petrovac area with 114 rooms overlooking the sea.

Luxury amenities will include multiple swimming pools, sundecks, a number of dining options and a kids' club.

Westin Hotels & Resorts to debut in South Australia

Adelaide will welcome a new Westin Hotel in 2022 as a part of the redevelopment of the Adelaide General Post Office building. The Westin Adelaide will house 285 guest rooms with views overlooking the city and Victoria Square. Additional Westin Hotels are planned to open in Brisbane, Coolum, Darwin and the Sunshine Coast.

Accor Hotels launches Seeker, a digital experience that will read your mind

It may sound creepy, and it kind of is, but Accor Hotels has rolled out the brand’s latest technology with good intentions. The program, Seeker, is designed to measure behavioural responses such as your heart rate, brain activity and galvanic skin response. Why? To determine what kind of a traveller you are and to deliver the best kind of service possible. Kiosks will be available in select hotels by the end of the month.

Australia’s first micro hotel to open in Melbourne

You may know JUCY from the company’s bright green camping vans and cars that are across the country but you’re about to be introduced to the JUCY brands latest development, JUCY Snooze. It’s early stages but the proposal for a 140 room, 12 storey hotel to replace the Theosophical Society building in Melbourne’s CBD has been put forth to the city council. The accommodation would offer pods to guests with budget prices to follow the pod movement seen across Asia and Europe. JUCY Snooze already has 3 locations open in Auckland, Christchurch and the latest in Queenstown.
