Get to Japan faster with Qantas’ new direct flights
These flights will have you wandering the streets of Tokyo in no time.
Qantas has announced its new flight route to Haneda, Tokyo. It's good news for the people of Melbourne because the new flight path will take off daily directly from Melbourne to Haneda which is just 15 kilometres from Tokyo Station.
Currently, Melbournians need to fly into the Narita Airport, which is approximately 60 kilometres from Tokyo, so this change saves travellers more than an hour of travel time. That's a whole hour you could spend eating sashimi, karaage or sushi.
Flights go on sale today 16 December 2019 and are already flying off the shelves. The flight path that is currently running from Melbourne to Narita will be replaced with these Haneda flights from 29 March 2020.
If you're reading this and have already booked tickets on the current route, Qantas has you covered by offering an automatic switchover of airfares or you can make alternative arrangements.
The extras don't stop there. Eligible customers will now have access to Haneda's security priority lane and Japan Airlines' Sakura Lounge.
With Japan being one of the biggest hot spots for Aussie travellers, it's no doubt that these fares will be a popular choice.
Alongside the upgraded flight route, seasonal services to Sapporo will offer over 10,000 seats to the region of Hokkaido for another year. Flights will take off three times per week during the highly anticipated 2020-2021 ski season, running from 14 December 2020 to 27 February 2021.
So if you're thinking about your next getaway, look no further than Japan.
