If your fingers have been itching to browse through the racks of some amazing international designers, Myer could be your next stop.

Though last week we were amazed that David Jones has nabbed cult-favourite brand Balmain, Myer is definitely not resting on its laurels and has stepped up the game massively.

That's right, 2018 is going to see Myer add in not one, not two, but eight brand new international designers to its fashion repertoire. If that's not exciting enough, wait till you hear which brands are coming.

If you "wannabe" a bit more stylish, the Victoria Beckham label will likely be the most exciting addition in your eyes – Victoria, Victoria Beckham will hit shelves and spice up our lives hopefully early this year, so we can all feel a bit posh.

Though it appears that some brands are only setting down in Melbourne to begin with, we'll also be seeing big name designers like Carmen March, Diane Von Furstenberg, Ganni, Jil Sander, Lanvin, Marni and Rochas on the racks before the year is up. And really, with the variety presented in those eight brands, we're feeling a bit spoiled for choice!

Myer's executive general manager for merchandise buying, Karen Brewster, told the Sydney Morning Herald that, "The beauty [of Myer] is the mix of brands. While you may have flagships, it's competition but it's brand building, it's equity. A lot of customers don't wear one brand head to toe".

As with all high-end designers, we can expect pieces from these collections to be a little on the pricier side, but when it comes down to it, you're buying designer for the quality – and being able to try them on and feel them in-store is likely to ease the shopping anxiety a tad!

With both David Jones and Myer bringing on so many exciting additions, it's clear to see that the department store market in Australia is recognising how utterly obsessed we all are with our favourite designers. So no matter which store you frequent, you're bound to find the perfect piece for the occasion.

Pop in to Myer over the next few months to check out the new brands, and start living that high-end designer life!
