It has already been the busiest week in the history of Internet TV here in Australia, but the players haven’t stopped throwing haymakers just yet as they battle for consumer market share.
Today we received confirmation from Netflix Australia that three upcoming shows are set to join the Netflix Australia library. It’s a proactive reveal to help prove to entertainment lovers that the service is serious about offering the latest and greatest content as it evolves in this country.
Marvel’s Daredevil will launch exclusively in Australia on Netflix, and it will do so at the same time it launches elsewhere across the globe. Disney and Netflix signed a streaming licensing deal in early February, but confirmation that Australia will be launching globally with the first big TV entry from the firm in 2015 is well worth celebrating. With the first episode of this highly anticipated series hitting on April 10 in the USA, an early morning April 11 date here in Australia is likely.
Comedy Grace and Frankie (May 8) – starring Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin as the titular characters respectively – and sci-fi drama Sense8 (June 5) will also follow this pattern. They join the hundreds of movies and TV shows already available to Australian Netflix users.
If you’re still umming and erring about which Internet TV service to sign-up with, we have created a comprehensive comparison table of all the available shows.
