Finder Beauty Fave: Naturally Serious Fruit-Tox Resurfacing Facial Remedy
If you're looking to improve your skin complexion at home, this natural facial remedy is worth adding to your cart.
With COVID-19 restrictions still hindering beauty appointments in some areas, now is a great time to invest in at-home facial alternatives.
A good exfoliant is a great place to start and this Naturally Serious Fruit-Tox Resurfacing Facial Remedy comes highly recommended.
Able to be used as both a natural detoxifying treatment and a physical exfoliant, the product sounded like a pretty solid investment for my beauty routine, so I decided to give it a shot.
After road-testing the product for several months, it became something of a go-to in my skincare collection. However, it hasn't been without its downsides.
The quick verdict
Why is it good? Able to be used as both an exfoliant and a face mask, this clay detox treatment leaves skin cleaner, brighter and smoother.
How much is it? The RRP is $40 for 100mL.
Where can I buy it? Sephora.
As someone who suffers from dry skin, clay products are something I tend to avoid like the plague. However, the product description claims that this Facial Remedy can be used as either a mask or a scrub, limiting the amount of time that it needs to be left on the skin.
Ditching the idea of using it as a mask, I instead applied a generous amount of the product to wet skin and used my fingertips to rub it in, before immediately rinsing it off.
This turned out to be the right approach, as it gave me all of the exfoliating benefits without turning my skin into the Sahara.
Those exfoliating benefits come threefold thanks to the careful combination of natural, cruelty-free ingredients.
First, you have the red clay which draws out dirt, impurities and excess oils. Then you have the volcanic pumice which exfoliates away any dead skin. Finally, you have a combination of fruit and plant AHAs which work in tandem to naturally brighten the skin.
The end result is a noticeably brighter complexion and skin that feels both clean and smooth.
As much as I love this product, though, there are a couple of downsides.
As someone with sensitive skin, I do find the Facial Remedy to be a tiny bit abrasive. While it isn't harsh enough to cause redness or serious discomfort, I wouldn't recommend using it more than once a week if your skin is prone to irritation.
The product also leaves a slight orange cast on the skin, so you may want to use it before bed and then wash your face again in the morning to remove any excess residue.
The Naturally Serious Fruit-Tox Resurfacing Facial Remedy is my go-to product when my skin is looking dull or in need of a serious detox.
Not only does the clay manage to draw out built-up dirt and grime that cleansers don't quite manage to wash away, but it also leaves my skin looking and feeling refreshed.
I do wish it was a little gentler on the skin (and a little less orange) but, despite its downsides, it's a product that I keep returning to again and again.
For a product that only needs to be used once or twice a week, $40 for 100mL is a bit of a bargain. I've used this product countless times over the past six months and I'm still yet to reach the bottom, making it great value for money.
