    Good morning,

I have a question. I have a NAB Credit Card with a balance of 5k and limit of 10k. I am considering this card for my wife who currently have no credit cards at all. If she takes this card from NAB:

    1. Can she do a Balance Transfer from her Credit Card to mine?
    2. Can she do Balance Transfer from NAB (her card) to NAB (my card)?

    • Staff
      MayAugust 21, 2017Staff

      Hi Muhammad,

      Thanks for your questions.

      1. Can she do a Balance Transfer from her Credit Card to mine?
Transferring a credit card balance from your partner or joint account to your own credit card is actually possible, but please note that NOT all credit card companies allow this process. NAB, for instance, allow transfers between any two people’s names. Please check this page for your guide on how this process can be worked out and to know more about which other banks that don’t and do allow this.

      2. Can she do Balance Transfer from NAB (her card) to NAB (my card)?
Whilst you can transfer between any two people’s names with NAB, it does NOT allow, however, a NAB to NAB cards balance transfer. This means that the nominated account (the credit card where the debt will come from) should be a non-NAB credit card or store card account. Given this, I’m afraid that your wife’s credit card balance with NAB cannot be transferred to your NAB account.

Meantime, you may like to read this article about which bank you can and can’t transfer a balance.

      Hope this information has helped.

      Cheers,
      May

I already have Ai already have accredit card with no balance outstanding. Can I transfer outstanding balances from other cards to this on the interest free offer or do I need to pick another bank

    • Staff
      HaroldAugust 17, 2017Staff

      Hi Suzanne,

      Thank you for your inquiry.

Some credit cards have restrictions around which institutions you can balance transfer your debts from. This usually happens when credit card companies have financial ties to one another, or when both credit card companies are actually being financed by the same larger lending institution. – You may want to check the available options here. – http://bit.ly/2uKMpVA

Please note, at the end of the introductory period, any remaining balance from your transfer will attract the cash advance interest rate. This offer ends on 31 August 2017.

I hope this information has helped.

      Cheers,
      Harold

    Hi,

I couldn’t find any info as to once you complete the balance transfer process – if you have to close down the credit card that originally had the debt? or can you keep it also?

    Thanks

      JonathanAugust 7, 2017Staff

Hi Dale, thanks for your inquiry!

Once you have completed the balance transfer process, you do not have to close the card which the debt originated from. You can keep it for as long as you’d like.

      Best regards,

      Jonathan

    Hi,
When clicking the ‘Go To Site’ link, the NAB site states that the BT fee of 2% is applicable to the application. If applying through finder.com.au, will this be automatically waived?

    • Staff
      JasonAugust 7, 2017Staff

      Hi Candice,

      Thank you for your enquiry.

The 2% BT fee is waived and you can enjoy 0% p.a. on balance transfers for the first 24 months, if you apply through finder.com.au by 31 August 2017 and complete the balance transfer during application.

      Kind regards,
      Jason

      Hello Rob,

      Thank you for your inquiry.

This is what was written on the fine print of this offer:

“Special promotion balance transfer must be applied for at the point of full card application. Interest free days do not apply while you have a balance transfer. Minimum monthly repayments must be made by the due date each month. Offer is not available when closing/transferring from another NAB credit card account, in conjunction with any other NAB credit card offer or with Employee’s Choice.”

“For approved applicants who apply online for a new personal NAB Premium Card by 31 August 2017.”

      Hope this helps.

      Cheers,
      Jonathan

Hi, I checked the details of this card and read something that confused me. The card states 0% interest on balance transfers for 24 months. However in the terms and conditions it shows this: ^ After 6 months, any unpaid balance transfers will attract the standard cash advance rate (currently 21.74%p.a as at 17 July 2017).

Does this mean after 6 months I pay the standard cash advance rate on any unpaid debt from my balance transfer? How would this be 24 months at 0% interest? Can you please clarify?

    Thank you

      RenchAugust 4, 2017Staff

      Hi Sul,

Thanks for reaching out to us.

Yes, it’s quite confusing. But don’t worry, the 0% p.a. interest on balance transfers for 24 months offer is applicable when you click on the ‘Go to Site’ from this page and apply at NAB official site.

*Offer commences 17 July 2017. For approved applicants who apply online for a new personal NAB Premium Card by 31 August 2017. The balance transfer interest rate will apply for a 24 month statement period from account opening. After the 24 month period, any unpaid balance transfers will attract the standard cash advance rate (currently 21.74% p.a. as at 17 July 2017).

The important info that you read applies for applicants that did not go through finder.

      Cheers,
      Rench

      Hi Gina,

Thanks for reaching out to us. Please note that we are not affiliated with NAB or any company we feature on our site and so we can only offer you general advice.

You can request a credit card limit increase or decrease by calling NAB directly. For credit card limit increase requests, once you call NAB, you’ll be asked to provide current employment and financial information. NAB will then verify the information and assess your request. That usually takes a few days.

      Cheers,
      Rench

    Hi there,

Can application for this NAB PREMIUM Card be made jointly? My wife and I are NAB customers already but when I tried to apply online via link through your website it did not give me an option to add another person. Do we have to call nab for joint application?

Another question how long this offer will remain valid? The above information says 31 August but can NAB withdraw this offer anytime before 31 August? and do we have to apply or get approved by 31 August to be eligible for 24 months offers?
Your help shall be highly appreciated.
    Thanks

      LiezlJuly 27, 2017Staff

      Hi Kal,

      Thanks for your questions.

No, NAB doesn’t allow joint-account holders. You may, however, request one additional cardholder at no extra cost. In this case, you become the “primary cardholder” and your partner becomes the “secondary cardholder”.

This offer is exclusive to finder and is valid until 31 August 2017. You have to apply for this NAB Premium Card through finder.com.au by 31 August 2017, not necessarily get approved. Kindly note though, that special promotion balance transfer must be applied for at the point of full card application. Moreover, this offer is not available when closing/transferring from another NAB credit card account, in conjunction with any other NAB credit card offer or with Employee’s Choice.

      Cheers,
      Liezl
