Boasting a rich history, culture and colour, visiting Myanmar is an experience of a lifetime and this week AirAsia is helping you get there for under $400 return from major Australian cities.

It's all part of AirAsia's Mega Sale, which sees over 200 routes discounted for select travel between September 2017 to June 2018.

Sale fares are available for departures from Gold Coast, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney to Yangon.

The cheapest flights available are between Perth and Yangon for $145 each way through the AirAsia website. Sounds like a bargain already to us, but if you purchase a return through Flight Centre you can shave some extra dollars off with return flights for $247.50. Sample dates sporting these fares include 10-27 October 2017 and 1-6 November 2017.

AirAsia charges a $10 processing fee per flight per person on credit and debit card purchases, but you can avoid this by booking your flight through a booking site such as Flight Centre.

As a low-cost carrier, this price does not include extras such as checked baggage, onboard meals and in-flight entertainment. These can be purchased during the booking process for an additional fee.

This AirAsia mega sale ends 19 March 2017. Other destinations on sale include Bali, Auckland, Bangkok, Tokyo and Siem Reap. See here for a full list of fares and routes on sale.
