From its founding back in 2006, Mwave has established itself as one of Australia's most popular online tech retailers. Specialising in computer parts and gaming peripherals, the New South Wales based business has received a number of awards for its service over the years, including making it into CRN's Fast50 for 2009, 2010 and 2012 as well as Power Retail's Top 100 from 2014 to 2018.
Mwave stocks all manner of consumer technology, from graphics cards to noise-cancelling headphones to Wi-Fi security cameras. Its catalogue currently includes over 12,000 different products from more than 1,200 brands across the following categories:

Yes, although there are a number of caveats involved when shopping in person compared to online. First, Mwave has just a single showroom store located at Unit F3, 3-29 Birnie Avenue in Lidcombe, NSW. Second, online orders take priority over in-store purchases, so it's possible some stock may not be available for purchase over the counter. Lastly, wait times for in-store purchases can be upwards of 45 minutes depending on how busy both the showroom and the online store are, since online orders are also handled by showroom staff.
If you prefer to shop in person, Mwave's showroom is open from 9am to 6pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 1pm on Saturdays.
Mwave offers three delivery options for online orders: Australia Post eParcels, standard Startrack courier delivery and urgent Startrack courier delivery. The first two options are available throughout Australia, while the urgent Startrack service can only be selected for deliveries to Sydney metro addresses.
Delivery costs are calculated based on order size and weight, the distance involved and the specific shipping option you selected. As such, costs can vary significantly from order to order. A standard Australia Post eParcel delivery can be as low as $9.95, whereas having a fully-built PC couriered can cost you upwards of $50.
Like pricing, delivery times are based largely on the specific product/s you're purchasing, your shipping address and which delivery method you choose. For Australia Post eParcel deliveries, typical shipping time ranges from 3 to 10 business days, or potentially longer for addresses in rural and regional areas of the country. Startrack courier deliveries usually arrive on the next business day for Sydney metro orders and between 1 and 4 business days for the rest of Australia.
If you're a Sydney metro resident and you opt for the urgent Startrack service, you should receive your delivery on the same day provided you place your order before 1pm.
In-store pick-up is available from Mwave's Lidcombe showroom during its regular trading hours of 9am to 6pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 1pm on Saturdays. If you select this option, you'll need to wait for a confirmation email informing you that your order is ready to pick up before heading in.
Mwave offers two in-store pick-up options: standard pick-up and VIP pick-up. Standard pick-up typically takes around 24 business hours to process, while VIP pick-up fast-tracks processing to have your order ready for pick-up in 60 minutes. You won't have to pay anything for standard pick-up, but the VIP treatment will cost you an extra $9.95.
Also be aware that Mwave requires you to present your driver's licence when collecting your order. If you don't collect your order within three weeks of its availability, Mwave will cancel it and charge you a 20% restocking fee.
Mwave accepts returns, refunds and warranty claims for orders only under the following conditions:
Provided these conditions are met, you can submit a return, refund or warranty claim through Mwave's online warranty system. Depending on the product in question, you may need to send it back to Mwave, an authorised service centre or the manufacturer directly.
It's also worth mentioning that for general purchases, Mwave does not allow returns based on you simply changing your mind. It does offer a 7-day money-back guarantee on select products, however. For these products you can issue a returns claim for any reason at all within 7 days of accepting delivery. Provided the returned item is in its original packaging and fit for resale, Mwave will refund the purchase price excluding any delivery costs.
The only country Mwave currently ships to outside Australia is New Zealand.
