Top 10 most popular Halloween costumes to rock this 2018

Time to get your hands on our top picks for Halloween this year.

Yes, it's October. The year is moving pretty darn quick. And that means that Halloween is coming up real soon!

Whether you're in it for the tricks or the treats, dressing up is definitely a huge part of the fun. Plus, with so many amazing trends and movies coming out this year, there will definitely be some particularly popular costumes that are just too good not to dress up as. Keep reading to find out what!

1. Wonder Woman

We've all had the ultimate girl crush on her since the Wonder Woman movie came out earlier this year. Who wouldn’t? Gal Gadot nailed the strong, independent and totally badass character that is Wonder Woman and she looked good while doing it too.

Check out Costume Box for this year's Wonder Woman costume.

2. Pennywise (aka It)

There's no doubt there will be an abundance of Pennywises and clowns this Halloween ready to spook the living daylights out of everyone. You can totally rock this look with a face paint tutorial (there are heaps on YouTube), a white shirt and some red pom poms.

However, if you're willing to go all out, check out this Pennywise costume from Costumes.com.au.

3. Eleven from Stranger Things

Approaching Halloween, Stranger Things images are 40x more popular than usual on Pinterest. People are calling for some serious costume inspiration, so don't be shocked if you see this gal walking around town on 31 October.

You can perfect her look with a blonde wig and cute dress and socks from Costume Box.

4. Donald Trump

Whether you're a fan or not, you simply cannot escape this guy. And let's be honest, he is pretty scary, which is why he's perfect for Halloween.

This costume is also up there as one of the easiest to pull off. All you need is a simple blue blazer and red tie, both available from ASOS. If you're willing to absolutely crush it, go for the fake tan and an orange wig! Just try not to get too ahead of yourself on Twitter.

5. White Walker

The White Walkers came out to play in Season 7 of Game of Thrones, and their leader the Night King really stepped his role up a notch. It would come as no surprise then to see His Royal Deadly Highness marching around this Halloween, maybe with an army of undead or even an ice dragon.

You can check out some awesome YouTube tutorials to recreate the look, or you could go the easy route with a White Walker or Night King mask.

The night is dark and full of terrors... especially on Halloween.

6. Daenerys Targaryen

She has been a fan favourite on Halloween for the past couple years, but after the attention she (and Jon Snow) received in this year's season of Game of Thrones, it’s expected to be a popular costume.

You actually don't need to splash big bucks to recreate her look. A simple turquoise maxi dress, chunky gold belt and long braided blonde wig should do the trick. Just make sure you remember your intro for whenever you enter a room and make sure that everyone bends the knee.

7. Baywatch lifesaver

With the release of Baywatch this year, starring a stellar cast including Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Zac Efron and Alexandra Daddario, people are going to be getting out their summer bodies earlier than expected.

With both female and male variations of this costume, it's pretty simple. All you need is a red one-piece swimsuit or some red board shorts.

8. Harley Quinn

Without a doubt, Haley Quinn was the leading lady of Halloween last year. Every man and their dog was practically wearing pigtails and blue and red.

Even though the excitement surrounding Margot Robbie's Suicide Squad character has died down a little, we still think this Halloween costume is too good to only last one year! Also, don't forget her favourite perfume "The Stench of Death".

9. Anything Star Wars

Honestly, it's Star Wars. Of course it's going to be a popular Halloween costume choice.

The fact that the eighth instalment of the Star Wars saga will be coming out on 14 December means that there will definitely be some very excited fans embracing the movie franchise for Halloween.

You can actually go as low-maintenance as you want with these costumes. For Kylo Ren you could literally just wear a black hooded cloak and Kylo Ren mask. For Rey, you could totally embrace the Force and get her whole outfit.

10. Belle from Beauty & The Beast

Halloween isn't complete without a couple of Disney Princesses. With the release of Beauty & The Beast starring Emma Watson this year, we think it's pretty obvious who is going to be the bell of the ball. Pun intended.

Whether you just want to wear Belle's simple blue dress and white apron or go all out in her golden yellow ball gown, either way, this costume is set to be a front runner for Halloween 2017.
