Get complimentary silver status with a Visa Platinum or gold status with a Visa Signature or Infinite card.

Bonus points, free reward nights, complimentary room upgrades and breakfast for two are some of the premium perks silver or gold status offers when you stay at hotels in the Hilton portfolio.

While the Hilton Honors loyalty program is free to join at any time, you usually need to have several stays per year to reach a higher membership tier.

To get silver status, you'd have to rack up 4 stays, 10 nights or 25,000 Hilton Honors base points in a calendar year. For gold, the requirement increases to 20 stays, 40 nights or 75,000 points in a year.

But, until the end of July 2019, you could enjoy fast-tracked silver or gold status with a Visa Platinum or Visa Signature/Infinite card.

The Hack

As the status and offer terms vary slightly, let's break it down by the type of Visa card you have.

Visa Platinum: Hilton Honors Silver

If you have a platinum Visa credit card issued in Australia (or elsewhere in the Asia Pacific region), you can redeem this offer through the Visa website until 31 July 2019.

All you have to do is apply through the Visa Concierge app or follow the link on the Visa website, enter your Visa card number and follow the prompts to complete your Hilton Honors registration.

If you're already a Hilton Honors member, you can enter your card number, then follow the prompts to redeem this offer. Alternatively, just call the Visa Platinum concierge on 1800 639 607 or by using the number on the back of your card.

Bonus: Get an extra 5,000 Hilton Honors points
If you're one of the first 1,000 Visa Platinum members to register for this status upgrade using the Visa Digital Concierge mobile application, you'll also get a one-off bonus of 5,000 Hilton Honors Points for your first stay during the promotional period.

Top silver perks? Silver Hilton Honors members enjoy a 20% point bonus on the base points earned, a fifth night free for reward bookings of 5 nights or more and two complimentary bottles of water per stay (plus standard member benefits).

Visa Signature or Infinite: Hilton Honors Gold

You can take advantage of this offer if you have a Visa Signature or Infinite card issued in Australia or another Asia Pacific country (except Japan, Taiwan and Visa Signature in Korea). It's also open to cards issued in Central Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

If you're not already a Hilton Honors member, you'll need to sign up first. Once you're an existing member, you just need to fill in Visa's online form then complete two qualifying stays (a booking you've paid for) or spend four consecutive nights at any participating properties within the Hilton portfolio globally.

These stays must be booked directly through Hilton Hotels and completed within 90 days of registration for the offer.

Top gold perks: Gold Hilton Honors members enjoy all the perks of standard and silver membership, plus complimentary room upgrades (when space is available), complimentary breakfast or point bonuses at participating hotels and unlimited milestone bonuses.

Keep in mind that these two offers are only available to eligible Visa cardholders until 31 July 2019. So if you want more Hilton Hotels discounts and perks, remember to check out the latest promo codes and coupons before you book.
