Money Hack: Receive $50 back when you book a hotel with your Amex card
Find and book a hotel in cities around the world with HotelStorm to save.
If you're an American Express cardholder in Australia and have travel plans coming up, why not save some cash by searching for and booking your accommodation using your Amex card? For a limited time, American Express is offering cash back when you book with its partner HotelStorm, also a partner of online booking platform Agoda. Here is what you need to know about this travel hack so you can book and save.
The hack
Search for a hotel using HotelStorm.com/amex-au. You will need to enter the city you'll be staying in, your travel dates, the number of guests travelling and how many rooms you'll need. You'll be shown a range of hotels that meet your search criteria, which you can then filter by price, location, rating and distance, and you can also view your options on a map.
You will need to spend a minimum of $200 in one transaction to be eligible for the $50 cashback offer. But don't worry, the HotelStorm platform shows you which options are eligible for cash back with a blue "Earn $50" label as shown below. You will need to book by 12 November 2018.

There are a few things to keep in mind with this offer to ensure you receive your credit. Firstly, you will need to book the accommodation using your American Express card to be eligible for the cashback offer. Any eligible credit you earn should appear on your statement within five business days from when you spend, but it may take up to 90 days from when the offer ends. If you cancel your booking or your purchase is refunded or cancelled, the credit may be reversed.
If you hold a CommBank American Express card and you register for an offer with American Express Connect, you'll need to make a qualifying purchase with your card before 31 October.
