What is Mobox?

MOBOX is a community-driven GameFi and metaverse platform built on the Binance Smart Chain (BSC). The project aims to build an everlasting play-to-earn (P2E) ecosystem by combining the best elements of the decentralised finance (DeFi) and non-fungible token (NFT) sectors. In contrast to other popular blockchain-based games, such as Axie Infinity, the developers of MOBOX wanted to ensure all games were free to play and, therefore, accessible to a wider audience.

According to the MOBOX litepaper, the ecosystem combines several different crypto games, all related to the MOBOX NFT range. Some of the first games to be released included Block Brawler, Token Master, and Trade Action. Each game is slightly different and offers different opportunities to earn rewards for completing tasks and quests. All gaming incentives are linked to the native MBOX token. The MBOX token can then be used to purchase in-game characters known as “MOMOs”. Each MOMO NFT is unlocked by holding a “Token Key”, which can either be earned through staking or purchased. By holding a specific selection of MOMOs, players can boost their “hash rate” which determines how quickly they can earn in-game rewards. All games are situated within the game’s metaverse known as MOMOverse. In addition to MOMOverse, the MOBOX ecosystem also includes an NFT marketplace, a yield-generating DeFi platform known as MOMO Farmer, and the MOBOX DAO (decentralised autonomous organisation).

The native MBOX token allows users to join the MOBOX DAO and, therefore, influence the development direction of the platform. The token can also be applied within the MOMO Farmer application to earn extra rewards through yield-farming modules called “Crates” or by mining their MOMO NFTs to earn daily compounding MBOX tokens.
