What is Mdex (HECO)?
MDEX is a decentralised exchange (DEX) and trading protocol that was released in 2021. The platform was built and developed on the Huobi Ecological Chain network.
MDEX is similar to other automated market-making (AMM) DEXs within the decentralised finance (DeFi) ecosystem. The platform hosts liquidity pools, swapping mechanisms for a range of cryptocurrencies, and is controlled by an integrated DAO. However, what sets MDEX apart is its multi-chain compatibility. The application is built on the Huobi network and, therefore, avoids much of the congestion found on Ethereum. However, the DEX has also integrated elements of the Ethereum ecosystem, which means the DEX can still provide liquidity for a vast number of ERC-20 tokens.
MDX tokens are the utility token of the MDEX exchange and can be used to receive yield rewards and participate in the governance mechanisms of the platform.
