Faux fur was a surprising street-style trend from MBFWA 2018

One of the biggest street-style trends from Fashion Week Australia will keep you warm all winter long!

We were genuinely surprised by just how many in the fashion crowd pulled out their furs for Fashion Week Australia this year – faux of course! While faux-fur jackets have never been "unfashionable" per se, we've never seen this many fashionistas get on board with this particular winter trend.

Some of the coolest looks we saw on the streets of Fashion Week were topped with a statement faux-fur coat. We saw gorgeous plum-coloured furs on all-white outfits, plenty of creamy faux jackets adding warmth to dresses and a couple of coloured fur coats that popped and made everyone take notice.

It was refreshing to see a big trend that is functional as well as stylish. Too often street-style trends can leave you uncomfortable or cold. However, since these faux-fur coats are just as cuddly as they are warm, this is certainly a trend we can get behind.
