Marc Jacobs x Dr. Martens 1460 boots: When and where to buy
Grunge goes DIY in the latest Remastered Release of the iconic Docs silhouette.
In celebration of the 60th anniversary of its iconic 1460 boots, Dr. Martens has teamed up with a different brand each month to create some killer collaborations. Now, in our favourite Remastered Release yet, the footwear label has paired with fashion mogul Marc Jacobs for a DIY take on the classic silhouette.
Release date: 26 September
Where to buy: Dr. Martens
Arriving in a sleek burgundy colourway, the new 1460 boots are a celebration of the customisation and individualism that has shaped both brands over the years.
Chunky gold chains wrapped around the sides and backs of the boots support a huge array of vintage trinkets including padlocks, keys, dice and whistles.
A black co-branded tongue tab meanwhile adds some designer flair to the style, while Dr. Martens' signature yellow stitching finishes off the design.
Most notably though, Marc Jacobs has chosen to revamp the vegan version of the 1460 boot, crafting the new pair from a completely vegan upper with an accompanying vegan heel loop.
While an Australian release date is yet to be announced, the designer boots will drop in the US on 26 September, so we're hoping to see them online at the Australian Dr. Martens store at around the same time.
In a release, Jacobs has said of the collaboration, "Dr. Martens has long been a symbol of individuality and counterculture. Marc Jacobs and Dr. Martens are united in a strong sense of authenticity and having your voice heard."
This isn't the first time the duo has teamed up, having dropped its Redux Grunge collaboration just two years ago.
After announcing the re-release of the collection that got him fired from Perry Ellis back in the 90s, Jacobs sought out Dr. Martens to create a collection of sleek, limited-edition boots, which quickly became a sellout.
