AirAsia has some tantalising flight sales running at the moment in celebration of its 10th anniversary flying to Australia. And hands down one of the best is for flights to Malé, Maldives.

With flights down to $440 return from Perth, it's not hard to stay on budget and live the life in paradise with fares like these.

From other cities, the price is almost as good with Sydney to Maldives on sale from $524 return and Melbourne or Gold Coast flights selling from $526 return.

Flights take off from 1 May - 10 June 2018 and 5 July - 15 November 2018, which sounds like the perfect way to escape those winter blues, in our humble opinions. Weather wise, you're looking at warm days year round, though the wettest months do fall within this sale period being between May and November.

On the upside, this is low season and one of the best times to explore the ocean by diving and snorkelling.

Whichever way you're looking at it, these prices are a cut below the normal sale price, which generally sits around $470 return at best, and if you book your stay around the shoulder months of May and November you may even be lucky enough to avoid a rainy spell.

Bookings can be made through Skyscanner online. Get in quick though as this sale ends midnight 29 October.
