Maldives flights from $391 return

Posted: 2 February 2018 10:59 am

Paradise for a fraction of the price.

AirAsia is helping you live the luxurious island life with flights to Maldives down to $391 return. No joke.

You'll have to fly out of Perth at these prices, though departing from other Australian cities isn't something to shake your head at. Think Melbourne to Maldives from $490 return, Sydney to Maldives from $495 return and the Gold Coast to Maldives from $511 return.

Travel is available from March to September, allowing for the perfect excuse to escape winter for warmer climes. Weather-wise, the temperature sits around 30°C in the Maldives year round. May-September is monsoon season for the islands so to avoid putting a dampener on your trip aim to travel in the shoulder months of March and April.

If this isn't an option for you, you can still make the most of this cheap escape, particularly if you're more attuned to diving or snorkelling as both activities can be enjoyed year-round.

Some spas are also open during the off-season for budget travellers.

This sale has no specific end-date and is available until sold out. It can be booked through I Want That Flight here.

How good are these fares?

Price wise, snagging a flight to Maldives for under $500 return is already a good deal, so getting it for under $400 is a rare event. In the past, we've seen fares as low as $337 return during dry/shoulder season though more often than not, we see flights $400+ return going on AirAsia year-round.

For this price, you're getting what you pay for in terms of weather with monsoon season beating at your door, unfortunately. Hold off and you might be able to score $337 return flights in better weather, though if the call of a cheap flight takes you and you're not particular about sunshine then these flights may just be what you've asked for.
