Because is there anything more beautiful than the perfect red lip?
If there's one makeup-bag-must-have it's a red lipstick. The beauty staple can take you from day-to-night in seconds, it goes with almost every outfit and looks effortlessly chic.
But finding that perfect red lip product can be difficult. With hundreds of products on the market, all promising lasting moisture, mattifying glam and bold colour, it's hard to know which one is worth the investment. So, we decided it was time to call in the pros. We spoke to five professional makeup artists to ask them what their favourite red lip products are. From classic picks to brand new products, these ladies had some amazing recommendations.
If you're looking for your next red lipstick, here are the best ones straight from the mouths of the experts!
Tobi Henney, L'Oreal Paris makeup director for Australia
My absolute favourite red lipstick is the L'Oréal Paris Colour Riche Moisture Matte Lipstick in RW512 Bloody Mary. It keeps my lips hydrated with a gorgeous matte finish.
Reuscianne Lynagh, Makeup artist and manager at Sephora, Sydney CBD
The ones I keep coming back to time and time again is Kat Von D's Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks! They're the perfect formula - creamy liquid and dries semi matte. It feels so so comfortable on the lips and I don't even have to touch up after I eat. My all time favourite red is Kat Von D's new red called Nosferatu but Outlaw and Santa Sangre are great too. At $30 a pop these WILL last ALL day and night and they don't bleed - it's a no-brainer! Every avid lipstick wearer needs this in their makeup bag.
Caitlin Manning, freelance makeup artist
My favourite bright red is called Fiery. It's a Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick by Stila and it's literally my ultimate red. For a deeper red I love Ricco Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick by Stila. The colour pay-off is incredible and they a very long wearing formula.
Kirsty Tarbuck, Makeup artist at RY.com.au
I love Jane Iredale LipFixation in Passion. It's long-wearing, intensely pigmented and has a beautiful undertone. It stays all day and is rich but not too bright.
Danielle Amy, Makeup artist at Danielle Amy Makeup artistry
Russian Red Matte Lipstick by M.A.C is my favourite because it works for most skin tones and with its matte texture it is also very long lasting.
