Where and when to buy the new MAC x Padma Lakshmi collab
This is the ultimate collaboration from MAC Cosmetics we didn't know we needed till now!
MAC Cosmetics is wasting absolutely no time with launching new collections and is already into the swing of things. On the back of the MAC Lunar New Year collection, the brand has already announced a collaboration with Jeremy Scott. However, the famous makeup brand is apparently only just getting started.
MAC has now announced they will also be collaborating with Padma Lakshmi to create an iconic collection all in its own. With 17 new products and packaging that will have you swooning, this is already setting the bar fairly high for 2018. In case you're unsure who this goddess is, Padma Lakshmi is an Indian supermodel, actress, author and host of the series Top Chef.
Where and when you can buy it?
MAC is currently stocked at MECCA, David Jones, Myer and even stand alone MAC stores and counters. This astounding collaboration will be landing in stores on 15 March in the US, so we can therefore hope to see it in stores on that date or pretty soon after.
What's in the collection?
The collection is pretty hefty, bringing 17 brand new products to MAC's line. What's included? Well let us break that down for you!
The collab will include five new lipstick shades, including Sunset Rose (a nudie pink), Mattai Pink (a bright Barbie pink), Blue Blood (a vibrant red), Nude Fudge (a warm nude) and Sumac (a deliciously vampy purple). For us, our favourite would hands down have to be Sumac. Even though it's still summer, these vampy shades are everything and more come the cooler months and I will 100% be getting around it. The lip products don't end there though with a stunning shimmering peachy lip gloss called Nefertiti, also thrown into the mix.
There are also two eyeshadow palettes that will feed your makeup addition. The first is "70's Sunset" which looks as stunning as it sounds. With peachy warm tones that embrace everything sunset and a vibrant blue eyeshadow that's everything, well, 70s, the palette really embraces its name.
The next is a bit of a brave decision as they chose to call the palette "Desert Dusk". If you feel like that's ringing a bell in the back of your mind then you'd be right. Whilst it consists of three stunning earthy purples and a vibrant green shade, it bears the same name as the incredibly popular Huda Beauty Desert Dusk palette, which some may argue, already consists of similar shades.
In terms of eyes, there are also three duo ended eye pencils that match fairly well to the shadows. Bordeauxline has a dark brown shade pencil on one end and rich dark purple on the other, which would match perfectly to the Desert Dusk palette. The other pencil is Iced Heather which has an incredibly versatile white on one end and a peachy tone on the other which would work with a lot of the shades in "70s sunset". The last is Dark Ink, one end has a standard black with the other a forest green which I think I really like.
The collection debuts two new duo blushes for those with fair and medium skin tone. The first is Melon Pink, which consists of a shimmery coral pink toned blush paired with one on the more orange side. The second is Moon and Shine that portrays more bronzy tones with what looks to be a lighter shimmery highlighter. However, the downfall with these is there doesn't look like they could work on those with darker skin tones.
Last but definitely not least are the brushes. The brand has revealed a new design that is completely to die for. Not only are they a stunning gold but the handles depict an intricate design unlike any other... so you can completely justify buying more brushes.
If this is everything MAC is starting out the year with we can't wait for all the exciting things to come because this collection is HOT!
