Beauty product of the week: MAC Cosmetics Strobe Cream review

Posted: 21 December 2018 9:49 am

This MAC Cosmetics moisturiser retails for $58 and is worth every cent.

Why we love this product

If there is a product that is going to give me glowing radiant skin, then I'm more than willing to pull out some cash for it. But we've all been there when we've splurged on a high-end beauty product only to be let down.

I had heard about the MAC Strobe Cream for some time but never really wanted to commit to the price tag. It's a pretty expensive product and I'd been burned too many times by high-end makeup that didn't quite deliver. But on Black Friday, my intrigue had gotten the best of me and I just had to try this product.

The product comes in five shades and I went after the shade Gold Lite as I prefer that glowy bronzed look. When the product was delivered I had the little "eep this is small" moment you get when a product wasn't as big as you thought it would be.

HOWEVER, (and this is where to tide turned) as soon as I actually used the product, I was more than happy with my purchase. I realised I'd just found true love.

You only need a small amount to get the most out of the product, so that solved the size issue. A little bit of this product goes a long way.

Plus, the results are instant. After applying, you can see a very evident lift in the radiance of your skin. It looks as though you've drunk seven litres of water and just became the love child of a J Lo and a Greek god.

The product contains iridescent particles within the moisturiser that act as a gentle illuminator. It's subtle but effective and doesn't look like you've smeared liquid highlighter all over your face. It doesn't embellish any skin texture or pores which is a big tick in my books.

As I said, this isn't the most affordable product on the market. It retails for $58 but in my opinion, gives you more bang for your buck anyway.

Where you can get it

It's quite easy to get your hands on Mac Cosmetics which are stocked at a range of stores including Princess Polly, Myer, David Jones and eBay. Alternatively, you can also shop this product direct from the MAC Cosmetics website.
