MAC Cosmetics lipsticks

The beauty brand just announced price cuts across its range of lipsticks, single eyeshadows and mascaras, so it's time to get shopping!

Listen up, beauty lovers, because we are the bearers of some seriously great news. Cult-favourite makeup label MAC Cosmetics has just dropped a bombshell in the form of permanently reduced prices across a range of your favourite beauty buys.

As of today (Monday 14 October), the brand is giving the pricing on its range of lipsticks, single eyeshadows and single wand mascaras a serious makeover. That means that instead of forking out $36 for your favourite lippies, you'll now pay just $30. Meanwhile, single eyeshadows will be reduced to $29 (previously $33) and single wand mascaras like the Extended Play Lash will now retail for $39 (previously $42).

The new prices are already up on both the MAC Cosmetics site and on the sites of usual MAC stockists such as Myer, Adore Beauty and David Jones, so you might want to start adding your favourite items to your cart now.

The changes come after the brand's makeup prices have fluctuated over the years, leaving customers feeling frustrated. Foreign exchange rates, costs of manufacturing, shipping, handling and local GST costs have all contributed to previous changes in pricing, but now the brand is determined to offer customers its most competitive rates.

MAC Cosmetics Director of Make-up Artistry, Nicole Thompson, said in a release, "You asked and we listened! Gone are the days of listing up your besties when they head overseas with all your make-up must-haves. Now you can shop MAC at competitive prices locally and still have change to spare for a cocktail or two!"

If, like us, you're already preparing to shop up a storm, you might also like to know that Ruby Woo has just been voted Australia's #1 red lipstick for this financial year, while Velvet Teddy took out the spot for Australia's #1 nude lipstick, so you might want to think about adding them to your haul. Happy shopping!
