Lufthansa's coronavirus (COVID-19) cancellation and changes policy update

As of 17 March 2020, new Lufthansa tickets purchased before 31 March 2020 will have any rebooking fees waived. You can push back your travel date to as late as 31 December 2020. One fee-free change will be permitted per ticket.

What is the Lufthansa cancellation policy?

Most flight bookings can be cancelled and fully refunded up to 24 hours before departure, depending on the type of ticket purchased. Tickets paid for in cash, tickets booked through a Service Centre and tickets that were not booked through a Lufthansa office are all included in this policy.

Typically, you must cancel your booking through the “My Bookings” section of the Lufthansa website. If you booked online or in a Lufthansa office, a refund will be sent automatically; if you booked through a different office or agency, you must contact that office or agency for a refund.
