With the Australian summer firmly on the horizon, that means cricket is about to move up a gear too. The Rebel WBBL is the premier women's domestic T20 competition and begins on 25 October. Once again this year it will be a standalone tournament, separate from the men's BBL. It will also be staged entirely in Sydney this year due to ongoing concerns about the pandemic.
The summer of cricket has already begun with the Sheffield Shield competition getting underway in October. In terms of the WBBL, everyone is chasing the Brisbane Heat yet again. The Queenslanders won a second straight title in 2019/20, beating the Adelaide Strikers in the WBBL|05 final.
Live stream all WBBL games live on Kayo: 14-day free trial
All eight men's teams that compete in the BBL also have a representative side in the WBBL.
Viewers have several options when it comes to watching the WBBL this season. Yet only one broadcaster, Kayo Sports, will broadcast every single WBBL|06 match live and on-demand.
The Seven Network and Fox Cricket will have 26 matches of the competition. Another 33 games will be streamed on the Cricket Network and the Cricket Australia Live app. All 59 clashes are on Kayo.
All eight teams will be in action on opening day, with North Sydney Oval and Hurstville Oval among the venues to be used, along with grounds at Sydney Olympic Park, Blacktown and Drummoyne.
This is the third year of the Seven Network's six-year cricket deal. For the WBBL you'll need to check your local guides as viewing varies state by state. Matches will be shown on TV through either Channel 7 or 7 Mate.
As we mentioned, free-to-air TV will be broadcasting less than half of this year's tournament. So if you want to watch any and all matches on your terms, you will need a subscription.
The equation is pretty simple - if you want access to every single game of WBBL|06, you need Kayo Sports. The streaming service is the only platform showing every game of the season.
All up, Kayo has over 50 sports including other Australian domestic cricket comps like the Sheffield Shield, Marsh One Day Cup and BBL. There's also a number of special features. SplitView allows you to watch four sports at once, which is ideal considering how many sports often overlap. There's also Interactive Stats, Key Moments Timeline and Kayo Minis, which makes catching up easy.
You can watch Kayo on your own TV through Apple TV, Chromecast, Android TV , Telstra TV and Samsung TV (2017 or later). Otherwise you can stream straight from the website to your Mac or PC. You can jump straight into Kayo with a 14-day free trial.
After your free trial period is complete you can continue on with a subscription, which comes in two forms. There's the Basic subscription for $25/month or the Premium subscription for $35/month. The subscriptions let you stream from either two devices or three devices respectively.

Existing subscribers only need to add the Sport pack for $25/month. If you're a new customer there are a few hoops to jump through first. It's mandatory you have the Foxtel Plus pack which has a mix of Pop, Drama and Lifestyle channels for $49/month, making a total of $74/month.
Foxtel IQ is the only way to watch sports programming in 4K. There's also an installation process for the set-top box and satellite, although Foxtel IQ deals are often available. Subscribers can also stream via the Foxtel GO app.
Another way to watch the FOX CRICKET channel is with Foxtel Now. Foxtel Now streams programs in HD via the Internet. Like Foxtel iQ you can't just subscribe to the Sport pack for $29/month. The base Essentials pack is $25/month. So at $54/month this isn't the worst option for those wanting more than just sports. Also like Foxtel IQ users can watch from the Foxtel GO app.
To watch on Foxtel Now you can stream directly from the website on a PC or Mac. There are also options to stream from a Foxtel Now box, Telstra TV, PS4, Airplay and Chromecast. New users are offered a 10-day free trial.
Streaming via Cricket Network is free, you just have to sign up for a Cricket ID. There are a few drawbacks though, as users can only stream WBBL contests from a laptop or desktop. There's also no support for viewing from anywhere else. As noted, this option will offer 33 of the 59 games to be staged this season.
