The NHL All-Star Game pits the Metropolitan, Atlantic, Pacific and Central Divisions against each other in 3-on-3 matches.

Selection of the four teams for the NHL All-Star Game is helped by a fan vote, which starts with voting for the four team captains. The teams then face-off in 3-on-3 competition games.

There will also be an Elite Women's 3-on-3 tournament. The NHL also stages an All-Star Skills competition. More details on that below.

Much like the NBA's showpiece event, the NHL All-Star Game has turned into a full weekend of activities. It all starts with the NHL All-Star Skills Competition. The Fastest Skater, Save Streak, Accuracy Shooting and Hardest Shot will all be featured.

There is also a new event, the Shooting Stars, where players shoot from a nine-metre platform towards targets set out on the ice. Women will also compete in the Skills Competitions.
