Update: New Zealand will now play England in the Rugby World Cup semi-finals after defeating Ireland.
As reigning world champions, the All Blacks are looking to make history and be the first to team to manage a three-peat. In the 2019 Rugby World Cup, New Zealand are on the verge of something special. Rugby union is so loved in the land of the long white cloud, it's part of the country's DNA. We're serious. It's the Kiwis' national sport and forms part of their cultural identity.
It;s no wonder then that the All Blacks have only ever lost six games out of 50 at the World Cup tournament.
Head coach Steve Hansen has been in charge of the team since the end of the 2011 World Cup. New Zealand has a loaded squad that sports three different players to have won the World Rugby Player of the Year award. One of those members is captain Kieran Read, though the real star of the side is Beauden Barret. He's considered the best rugby player in the world and backs it up having won two Player of the Year awards.

All Blacks Rugby World Cup form guide
As per usual, they will enter the tournament as the overwhelming favourites, though it will be interesting to track how the team handle the pressure throughout the World Cup. As we've seen before, the All Blacks aren't bulletproof. Just this year the Kiwis suffered a shock loss to Australia and drew with South Africa. If you go back another year they were also upset by Ireland for the first time ever. The result of that match led to them losing the world number one ranking.
During the side's final warm-up game before this tournament, the All Blacks annihilated Tonga 92-7. This should be a reminder to the competition of how strong they are. Yet, no matter how dominant the All Blacks have been throughout history, a number of sides will fancy taking them down. Their campaign will come down to how well they work under pressure, because talent isn't the issue.
